Hey guys. i have been following this board for a while and i am no where near expert so i don't post my picks but i do have a wuestion. When i was in vegas i learned that if you push you lose. my question for all small gamblers why would you ever gamble in vegas and take a chance of pushing. seems to me only gives the house even more of an advantage. but please tell me why some of you still gamble there and not online.

you don't lose on a push and there are 3 places coast propities.cal/neva and las vegas club that will stand number wise with any off shore number in fairness,i use both.

vegas you can pick up same day if you win to keep cash flow going . off shore you can shop better ,the 3 places i said are about the only true lines out here and would never play at the strip or large mega resorts there are some small places on strip that want give you bs numbers.

but if some one told you a push counts as a big L then they were trying to rip you off which i find that very hard to believe a book would tell you that or has those rules what sports book was that?

Patriot,

Weak, buddy. There is nowhere in Nevada that treats a push as a loss(on a straight bet). In fact, it's against the law for any regulated book to do this.

You mentioned that when you were in Vegas you 'learned' that ties lose. Where exactly was that?

You ask all 'small bettors' why they would play in Vegas, rather than on-line.

I ask, 'who do you work for'?

Whatever the case, now you can come back and say that you meant 'ties lose on teasers, that's what I meant'. Yep, that's what you meant.

Thanks Fletcher for filling me in. If there is anyone i respect on this message board its definitely you. Your post about being a full time handicapper gave me new respect for you and others who do it for a living. i know some of you might think it was stupid but when i was at Bally's thats what they told me and my friends. The example was we were betting on first preseason game Giants vs Houston. I got the line at 3. then went to 3.5 right after me. my friends got pissed and the guy at the book said its the same since if they only won by 3 we would push. Maybe he was just a jerk trying to get my friend to still bet but thats what he said. Glad to know the truth now.

'Oh brother'

Yes, 'oh brother' indeed.

Does that seem strange to you, Neems? Me asking that? Is that the point of your post?

Do you believe that Bally's told this guy and/or his friends that pushes lose on straight bets?

Great soundtrack

Great soundtrack

"O Brother Where Art thou is !"

Maybe the guy was referring to + 3 Ties Push so you don't win kaakaa. At 3.5 you don't win kaakaa either.

Got me.
