Why would anyone take Ghana without their best player?

1. A lot of folks were watching the USA / GHANA game and saw a solid team performance.

2. Many of these KO games have been of the 1-0 variety.

3. Most casual bettors are not soccer handiappers, but like to bet on action and TV games.

4. Other than beating up Japan, Brazil has shown very little.

That said, I would not back Ghana at +950 or even +1950. I cannot believe that they have a chance to win in regulation.

5. Teams have a tendency to rise to the occasion when star players are missing. They play even harder than normal.

6. Brazil is looking past Ghana.

7. Brazil has been overvalued throughout this tournament.

8. Ghana is playing for the entire continent of Africa.

I agree - I'm all for Ghana, but I think Brazil is starting to unify as a team and that they will most likely beat them easily today...

Position for position Brazil is just way more experienced and skilled...
