First glance.......the obvious........

Oak/Houst......oddsmakers can't make this total any lower. No clue how both offenses will score. Special teams and defense will be the only way. Texans probably win just for being at home. Raiders lost everything when Carr went down. They would play Cleveland and probably lose right now

Lions/Hags.....Lions come limping into the playoffs barely making it and have zero run game. This has blowout written all over it not because Seattle will blow them out, but Detroit will beat themselves. Stafford good for 2 TO's and Seattle does normally step up in postseason. This just looks like a terrible match up for Detroit.

Miami/Pitt....Pitts defense is AWFUL! +10 points looks like a gift with Miami! Dolphins may keep this close and cover, but getting the W probably asking too much

Giants/Pack....tough game, but being at home for the Pack most likely does it. Pack already beat Giants earlier why not again with more on the line. These two teams are very evenly matched give the defensive edge to the Giants. Both have very capable QB's....solid WR's....mediocre running game. I think it boils down to Manning vs Rodgers...gotta go Rodgers, but this game will be close!! Toughest game to call out of the 4 wild card games IMO

Thoughts?.........

ViewFromVegas of NFL wild-card lines (as of noon ET Monday):

Saturday
HOU -3 vs OAK (trending higher; Matt McGloin questionable)
SEA -7.5 vs. DET (some books at SEA -7 -120)

Sunday
PIT -10 vs. MIA (opened -9.5; Steelers very popular play)
GB -4 vs. NYG (opened -4.5; Packers a public team, but Giants getting support from sharps)

My views would be Overs where grass teams are playing on turface, dogs if turf teams playing turf teams and getting more than 3 1/2 pts.

Strength of schedule matters as well as health of team.

Throw out how teams did at home and on the rd, this is a new season beginning with Wild Card weekend.

GL!

man I think the Packers blow the Giants doors off. Packers have been dominate at home of late. Giants don't get to the qb and Rodgers will have plenty of time.. Packers defense isn't very good but they do get to the qb and force turn overs. Eli will turn it over twice and Rodgers wont

Betting all dogs here.

Can never go wrong with that....I gotta look into the numbers more but off hand my favorite dog is Miami! Pitts D has shown sparks of goodness, but way more sparks of badness throughout the season. If Miami doesn't move the ball with their run game then it's their own fault

Agree 1000000% Giants are terrible. They do have the zebras in there back pocket but Rodgers and company roll in this one.

Raiders w/Carr were an offense that set up the big play ..their rush and pass were close enough to do that..Carr only had 6 INT's in 15 games.....Cook for Raiders turned over 2 times[int and fumble][did fumble twice one recovered by Raiders in 21 passing attempts...now he faces a team that is ranked 12th against the rush and 2nd against the pass.

Mighty tall order to ask a rookie w/1 real NFL relief picture appearance to navigate his way in Houston.

Brock has shyt the bed all season but between the 2 QB's and Raiders 26th ranked Total D for the 16 games this year..gotta think his time on the Bronco's albeit on the sidelines in huge games is better prepared for a playoff game...he did better last week ..on Sunday when he threw for 253 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score.

I can't take Oakland ...backdoor wide open I know with Sebastian Janikowski who is near perfect from 40-49 out..

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

GOTTA LAY THE 3 AND A HOOK...simply can't ask a rookie to go into a playoff game in what should be a closed roof stadium and even cover the 3'

KEEP IN MIND THE TEXANS WERE SHUTOUT BY KC 30-0 IN LAST YEARS WILD CARD ROUND..THEY GOTTA BE BETTER PREPARED WITH THAT SOUR TASTE IN THEIR MOUTHS

:SIB

DET at SEATTLE-8...This is a tuffy..Ya take Det. plus the 8 and you asking a team that has given up 73 points in there 2 latest loses and has suffered 3 straight losses of which 2 were on the road..trailing 31-17 vs GB in the 4th period and running out of gas in the "Motor City"..TD w/8 seconds left makes the game look closer than it was..
Lions: Detroit, which has won only one playoff game since winning the 1957 NFL title, will face long odds to advance on the road against the Seahawks courtesy of Larry Lage//.............................Personally I have really enjoyed watching Det. this year...man o man they can get hammered outdoors in that stadium of noise

FROM THE SEATTLE ANGLE IT'S ALL ABOUT RECENT EXPERIENCE AND THEY HAVE IT IN ABUNDANCE

This team isn't all that special..losing 3 of their last 6 and struggling against SF in a game they needed to win..

But they do possess is the ability in that noise metered stadium is to shut your passing game down and hold their opponent to 19 or less..

It can get away from Detroit just like it did to Carolina in that noise pit...hanging tuff in the start of the second quarter and the next thing ya know Seattle and Wilson have taken advantage of a turnover..converted it into a TD..now you are down 10 OTR and Seattle kicks back to back FG's and then Wilson takes control from there..

Hopefully a good game..would really like to see the Lions pull of the upset...but can't see it happening in that outdoors noise pit ..

8 is a bucket load...I'll pass both ways....+8 may very well be the "Right Side" but I fear the "Comeback Kids" are out of gas

Now Detroit in a 13 point teaser gets my attention..3 unanswered TD's don't beat ya..but that a conversation for another day in another thread of that angle of wagering

So Cal
Way too much GB love. NYG Defense has been lights out the 2nd half of the year.
Eli is a road warrior. Hes beaten the Packers during the playoffs at Lambo twice.
Who is gonna cover OBJ? I think Giants are a live dog.

giants/packers will be a single digit game......just wait for 2nd half/live and bet on the team that is down 10 or more at some point

Since the 2004 season - home teams favored by 7.5 or more in the wild card round have gone 7-0 ATS & won by an average of 18 points.

This year all home teams will win :mj07:....who knows lol!

I say put all 4 favs in a 10 pt tease!! ;)

Each year some scenario makes us all go hmmmm.

Revenge situations for Houston & Pittsburgh both at home, both playing teams with BU QBs, yet, we fail to remember, Oakland runs the ball pretty well and their "D" gives up points. Pittsburgh the same, good running game, Dolphins very good running game, both "D"s give up points.

Seattle has crapped the bed at home vs Arizona, Detroit did pretty well keeping games within 3-4 pts until their last 2 games vs Dallas and Green Bay, now that factor is skewed and Staffords finger is giving him fits with the touch he has on the ball when passing.

All the touts have UNDER 36 1/2 in the Houston/Oakland game.

It's going to be one of them weekends, it always is during "WiLd CaRd WeEk"! :00x24
