DirecTV

DirecTV

I believe has exclusive rights for a few more years to the NFL season ticket package... which is why I went with the when dishes first came out....

I would imagine once the contract between the NFL and DirecTV runs out, the NFL will be on digital cable - just like the NBA and MLB are now.....

I really am loathe to give up the DirecTv. With Tivo I have the unbelievable two-tuner feature and I would hate to give that up. (for those that dont know, the two tuners with DirecTv allows you full rewind/pause/replay ability on two different channels at the same time). It just seems it will probably be easier to not have a dish, but without football, how good can digital cable really be?

from what i heard...this is the final year with DirecTV according to the contract...but they are likely to stay with DirecTV again. DriecTV would be stupid to let the NFL slip by...every person and bar subscribes to the ticket...its truly their money maker

While I agree with that, there is no reason it couldnt be their money maker on digital cable. Every bar has cable I assume, and in larger cities where apartments are stacked up like sardines, it could be argued they could reach more customers on cable.

Thats just my wishful thinking though, I know nothing about how their contract is structured.

I don't believe Directv would let NFL ticket slip to Cable, imagine all the cancellations they would get. The NFL Ticket is their meal ticket, they will do everything they can to maintain it.

I just heard tonight, that Time Warner has just signed a contract to get the NFL Sunday Ticket for their digital tier subscribers.
