WagerWeb.com POSTS ODDS ON: "WILL LARRY BROWN LEAVE THE DETROIT PISTONS BEFORE OPENING DAY 2005-06?"
(Zapote, Costa Rica, 6 June 2005) - The Larry Brown saga continues. It seems as if Larry can never stay put in any one place for more than two years without there being some rumor of him going to another team. Brown, currently the head coach of the Detroit Pistons, won a championship last year and is in the midst of another championship run this season. Then, right in the middle of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, rumors started circulating that he might be going to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers next season. Once the Cavs named their new head coach, Mike Brown, the rumors shifted to Larry becoming the President of basketball operations.
No matter what happens, it is insane for a coach in the midst if a championship run to not at least dispel rumors right away of him leaving the team that he is coaching at the present moment. Brown neither confirmed or denied the rumors and just stated that he "is the coach of the Detroit Pistons," and that is not changing right now. Wow, thanks for the clarification, Larry. Whether Brown jumps ship or simply retires due to health reasons that have plagued him all season long, this has been an unneeded and unwelcome distraction from his current team's efforts during their run at back-to-back NBA championships.
"Larry Brown is truly a strange breed," said Wagerweb.com CEO Dave Johnson. "He is, by far, one of the best coaches in the history of basketball and has won at every level he has coached at. The problem is he never seems to want to stay in those places for any extended period of time. We have already received a tremendous amount of wagers on Brown leaving the Pistons after the season, win or lose."

Will David Beckham Play in the MLS by Opening Day 2006?
WagerWeb.com POSTS ODDS ON: ?WILL INTERNATIONAL SOCCER STAR DAVID BECKHAM PLAY IN THE MLS BY OPENING DAY 2006??
(Zapote, Costa Rica, 6 June 2005) - What is Becks up to now? The Real Madrid star has commented that he would someday like to play in the MLS. Could it be true that one of the highest paid and most beloved soccer stars of all-time wants to play in a second rate American soccer league that has trouble keeping the best American players at home? Only time will tell, but if this does happen, then at some point?and even if only for one game?the response will be phenomenal.
The former Manchester United star was signed by Real Madrid two seasons ago and is one of the most popular soccer players in the world since Pele. The MLS (Major League Soccer) is the best and only major outdoor soccer league in the United States. The League is now 10 years old and has had its up and downs; it is in more of a down cycle right now, with only one team averaging over 20,000 fans per home game. Bringing a player like Beckham stateside would not only be a boon to the MLS, but also to American soccer in preparation for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
"Becks, as he is called by those who love him, is one of the most popular athletes in the world," said Wagerweb.com CEO Dave Johnson. "To bring him over to play in the MLS would be truly a phenomenal feat, but stranger things have happened and if this does happen, it could be the beginning of more international stars coming to the U.S.?
