Leaders of major gaming resort companies like Las Vegas Sands, MGM Resorts, and Wynn Resorts all emphasized on second quarter earnings calls that the convention business is a cash cow for Sin City ? and the coronavirus-related snuff out of the vital business line is putting the city in a dire predicament.

i'm certain casino oweners will miss some revenue.... however....every where i go in town the Casino's are packed..especially the sportsbooks...nothings changed.. except everyone is wearing masks..:0008

In March, MGM was forced to close all of its casinos and suspend about 62,000 of its employees. Later, the casinos partially opened, but almost 30% of the employees were ?superfluous?.

?The law requires companies to disclose the date of dismissal to suspended employees who have not been reinstated within six months.

We are getting crushed out here. Casinos are laying off employees at a record pace. Building has slowed, suicides are up....but the bars are finally open with bar top gaming, so there's that!!!

Yes, this is very sad, but the worst thing is that we do not know what will happen next, with the virus and with the psychological state of the population and of our state.
95% of commercial casinos in the United States closed voluntarily before the imposition of official bans by the authorities, followed by 76% of tribal casinos - gambling establishments located on Indian reservations. Only in the field of land-based casinos, 616 thousand people are now unemployed, every day this the figure increases. 350 thousand people from this sad list have already, by mid-April, faced financial difficulties. It is difficult to understand when the quarantine will be lifted, but the influx of foreign tourists is unlikely to be expected until 2021. Of course, the state of Nevada, or rather, Las Vegas, where 206 thousand employees of the gambling business are now sitting at home, has been particularly affected
