Three days on the course to forget about the Solheim.....not likely!

As the next Euro captain stirs things up allowing herself to be mis-quoted by describing Redman as 'untalented', Diaz as 'cocky' and Kerr as a 'brat'. Can't wait for the action to begin...Nilsmark will be on course, and the US will have Pepper there as a cheerleader!

Even funnier, Capt Nilsmark of the rather short hot-pants has promised to 'have a word' with official clothing manufacturer Pringle regarding uniform for the next Solheim....

Bet Laura Davies is looking forward to that!!

But the miserable summer may well end here if Beth Bauer can continue her excellent run of form...Centrebet went 80/1 early on, now down to 33.

Catriona Matthew is still in the frame too, esp at the 66/1 at Stan James, Surrey go 25

And to continue the repeating trio from last week, Teske was 3rd here last year and is 50/1 at Surrey.

Should also mention Michelle Ellis who is another in great form, and is 66/1 at SJ.

Stanford certainly a player to watch, but I was hoping for three figures.

Koch should certainly figure...I assume she's played here whilst at University of Tulsa? Think she was in Europe last year?

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Meg Mallon to win 40/1 e.w. @ Bet365 or Five Dimes (.75 units to win & .75 units to finish in top-5)
Never really recovered from a poor opening round last week, but there was nothing to suggest a loss of the form that had brought her victory in her previous event, the Canadian Open. Didn't play last year, but she was 25/1 last week and this is a big increase in price even with a rusty Annika in the field. Expecting a faster start this week.

Grace Park to win 40/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Last week was a welcome return to form for Park who had started the season in great form: she finished in the top-10 in eight of her first twelve starts. She had missed her two previous cuts at The Rail so there was little room for optimism last week, so her finish was noteworthy. Now that she returns to a course on which she has form - she finished 5th last year, breaking a run of poor form - she should be able to at least match last week's performance.

Catriona Matthew to win 66/1 e.w. @ Stan James
Strange price. Matthew is generally available at half these odds and looks a value play on those grounds alone. She didn't play last year, but looks to be in good form with a 12th place finish last week after a slow start and top-5 finishes in the two weeks beforehand.

Matchup play (1.5 units):

Carin Koch to beat Emilee Klein -115 @ Five Dimes
Klein may have played last year, which Koch did not, but 41st place was not impressive, particularly as it was in the middle of a run of five top-5 finishes in six events. Having beaten Klein in each of their last six joint events and having studied at the University of Tulsa, this should be a win for the Swede.

Final update:

Matchups: 0-1-0; -1.73 units

Koch/Klein LOST by 4

Outrights: 1-2; +3.75 units
Mallon 5th
Park 14th
Matthew 7th

Profitable event, but could have been so much more. Mallon had the low round of the day to secure a top-5 position, but Park had been there for much of the week until midway through her final round and Matthew had been there all week, but with a six at the 16th she finished one shot out of the top-5. Very close to a great event.

LPGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 12-10; +6.68 units
Outrights: 12-41; +54.39 units

Cheers DTB. The elder statesmen of this forum seem to focus their attention on the LPGA/Seniors so I figure it must be worth a look. Shame we don't get any TV coverage over here. On that note I may be moving to the US in the next month or 2 and was wondering if they show much of the European Tour over there?

I have a job offer in Connecticut but can only get a visa for 18 months. Unfortunately it's really tough trying to find a US company willing to sponsor foreign grads (Sept 11 didn't help) for longer work visas. Should be some good experience nevertheless. I spent 6 months travelling down the east-coast after graduation so am looking forward to heading back to see the Yanks. I guess the time difference isn't to good for watching the European Tour anyway.
