Wilson,

I am a Canadian, Let me tell you a little story of the effect of war. Two years ago I traveled to France to remeber a group called the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. This group fought in WW1 under British command as at the time we were a colony of Britian. My Grandfather fought with this regiment. I never really thought to much about the War as my Grandfather never ever spoke of it. My visit explained why. Hundreds of men were killed in less the the lenght of a football field. Sent over the top for King and Country. Boys of the age of 15 and 16 as the ages are marked on the hundrds of grave markers that line the fields row by row. You could feel the chill when you entered the lines that still feeling. My Uncle also fought in WW2 , He is now 78 years of age I sat with him two years ago over a couple of beers in a pub in my City. I told him of my travel and he told me of two stories one of my Grandfather being in a trench with his friend who had been dead for two days. The second was his own. That was of young
American men being mowed down by German fire as they jumped off the ships to go forward on the beaches. His memory is of their smilling faces. Young men.

So Wilson check the facts Canadians gave their lives in two of the bloodies wars in History, do some research on Vimmy Ridge. A Canadian monument to those that lost thier lives so that we may live in the democratic Countries we live in today.

War is not all winners, don't just wrap yourself in the flag. Feel for those will will loose their lives.

Who questioned Canada's past war performances?

Reread my posts and you will learn that I only questioned Canada's loyalty to the U.S. Don't shit where you eat.

Vinnie and Scott are a match made in heaven.

OK Vinnie...you win. The United States is very grateful that Canada's politicians decided to bend us over...

Thanks for the history lesson. I am forever thankful that Canada chose to fight Hitler and defend freedom 59 years ago. That makes up for the recent non-support at the UN.

Scott..once again another substantial post.

Wilson,

Just because one country does not support the others action at one time does not mean that it "shoves it up your ". The fundamental part of a democratic Country is the ability to disagree. My reference to the past refers to the service of those that gave us the democratic countries we live in today. We are fulfilling our UN requirements with several Naval vessels and troups that were on UN detail. These members of the UN were not pulled back.

Vinny,

My wife is Canadian & shortly will be spending 10 days in your great country. I don't mean to speak for Wilson, but I think he means that your great ally,US, feels that our security is at risk. We have expressed this to your gov't., but instead of being the great friend that Canada states they are & offering any help they can, they instead turn their back. Now lets reverse the situation, do you think if Canada came to our gov't. & said they fell threatened & presented their case, do you think the US will turn it's back?
I have read that Canada is divided on this issue. It is time for people all over the world & wake up & realize that you cannot reason with these terrorists. If other countries continue to ignore this problem & think that the US & it's allies will handle this without every country in the world pitching in with their help, then imo these countries will suffer economically.

i keep hearing all this "right to disagree" business but you take offense that the US has the "right to disagree" with your lack of support....

we have the right to call you deserters, whatever....because that is what we think of you and your government right now and i hope we put a big fat tax on your imports...

and then we will see who relies on who for trade....if you think the US relies just as much on Canada as you do on us you are fooling yourself

AR, It is very true that Canada is devided on its opinion of the war. The troubling factor for me how do you win a war with a people that believe that through death they reach the ultimate life.

Dr. Free trade research it no tax on imports.

Look at my post on 911 and the people that helped many Americans that were stranded.

I think we have two equally great Countries that will survive this troubling time.
