Windows 10 file explorer crashing issues

I've had these pretty bad for about 6-8 weeks now.

I can have music or video playing, several websites open, whatever; none of that crashes, just the file explorer (MyMusic, MyDocuments, MyWhatevas, etc).

I have tried several of the alleged fixes from the following:
https://www.r-datarecovery.com/windows-10-explorer-keeps-crashing.html
with no luck.

Perhaps related, over this period (was following a windows update, which is always risky) I have noticed that Intel RST service refuses to start. I tried to google a solution for this a couple of months back but had no success, and I was even informed that this RST Intel service wasn't essential and that its not starting was not a big deal; I'm not sure I'm convinced of that but beyond the file explorer crashing (more frequently as time passes), I have had no issues, save for betting on Raiders games or NCAA hoops, though I suspect that such is not related.

Any help in this matter (+350) is appreciated.

In the interim - Here are two free file explorer alternatives

Free Commander

Free Commander is the first entirely-free software on this list. If you?re not a power user and you don?t want to pay for a Windows File Explorer replacement, this is probably the app for you.
The app doesn?t try to confuse users with lots of features most people will probably never use. Rather, it aims to offer an alternative solution that remedies some of the glaring omissions within the native Windows app.
So, if you?re a first-time user, what can you expect? Free Commander offers a tabbed interface, dual panels for easy drag-and-drop, built-in support for archive handling (ZIP files), folder synchronization, definable shortcuts, and even a DOS command line.

5. Explorer++

The second entirely-free app on the list, Explorer++ makes the cut because it?s open source. That means the community can keep working on it for as long as they wish?there?s no danger you?ll be tied to an unsupported app at some point in the future.
Interestingly, it?s also one of the most basic apps on the list. It looks the most similar to Windows File Explorer and offers the fewest enhancements.
Despite that, the enhancements will lift most users to a new level of productivity. You will enjoy tabbed browsing, the ability to merge and split files, and a display window for file previews.

If you are able to find an error log it would probably help point to the failure point (file or service)

I find matching dates and times to "crashes" as the easiest way to find the correct error log

This page has a few more items that you can try - Please be careful changing registry files - Many paper weights have been created this way. This page also includes some of the stuff you have already done.

Thanks, JOSHNAUDI.
I'll try to fool around with the error reports when my patience can bear it.

As for an alternative folder manager, Hendrix forbid my system requires me to seek such a thing...I keep expecting an update with some fix for this, but Microflaccid apparently has better things to do lately.

I've already had to resort to a 3rd-part search tool (using 'everything') as Windows file search became intolerably useless. Maybe this is causing conflicts but I had no choice.

Thanks, again.

XTRA PC

Is your computer painfully slow? Have you considered buying a new ?faster? computer but the price of even a basic one makes you cringe? Do you wish there was a cheaper, more affordable way to get a FAST computer? (Hint: there is ? keep reading.)

It?s incredibly frustrating when computers slow down or stop working for seemingly no reason at all. And even after all the diagnostics, upgrades, and money spent, the amount of time waiting for that spinning wheel or hourglass to disappear never seems to get any shorter. Your once new, lightning-fast, computer just keeps getting slower as each day passes.

Well, fortunately, there?s a new device that has recently hit the market and it?s giving old, slow computers FAST speed again. And to say it?s extremely affordable is grossly understated!

What is It?

It?s called Xtra-PC and if you have an old, slow computer, it?s exactly what you?ve been waiting for. Xtra-PC is a small thumb drive you simply plug into your computer?s USB port and it instantly bypasses your existing operating system and loads a feature-rich Linux OS ? making your old computer run like new.

It works with any computer (Mac or Windows) laptop, desktop, or netbook made in 2004 or later, and it is hands down the easiest way to avoid spending $400, $500, $800 on a new computer.

How Does it Work?

Super easy! In fact, it?s so easy that it?s like snapping your fingers and watching your old computer magically turn into the like-new, super-fast computer you want it to be. All you have to do is?

Plug It In ? Simply plug Xtra-PC into a USB port while your computer is turned off.
Turn Your Computer On ? Simply select ?Boot from USB? and bingo, you?re good to go.
Enjoy Your FAST PC ? In less than 15 minutes you?ll be shocked at the difference in the performance of your computer.

You only have to setup Xtra-PC once and you can even use it on multiple computers!

Xtra-PC Uses The Proven Foundation Of Linux. Watch The Video Below to See How It Works!
