I never had any problems with 7 but 8 will sometimes 'IE Explorer is not responding and will shut down'. It usually happens when I have a lot of windows open. Like 10 or more and it pisses me off because everything has to be loaded again.

Just stick with 7, IMO.

Others will tell you to get firefox. I think it sucks and try it about every year when I hear people raving about it. I am just fine with IE :0008

Go online to learn about the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) security feature

i went online and couldn`t make heads or tails of d.e.p.(data execution prevention" and am afraid to circumvent it for fear of opening up my cmputer to a bunch of malicious stuff....

sorry to ask again, but is anybody familiar with d.e.p.?......doesn`t kick me offline, but i have to go back and forth several times to get to the page i want.....

computers can be a pain in the arse...

was having issues with something called "windows data execution prevention"program not allowing me to open pages off of main sites....for instance,if i went to sherdog or some other site,i could get there, but when i tried opening pages within the site, windows data execution program wouldn`t allow me to open them because of some sort of add on(or something)....

i noticed that off of the "all programs" menu there was a "windows explorer" tab and a" windows explorer(64 bit)" tab....the "windows explorer" tab was pinned to my task bar....i upinned the "windows explorer" tab and pinned the windows explorer(64 bit)" tab to the taskbar and am using it to surf the web.....

not having any problems opening programs now and the computer seems faster...

i`m a computer illiterate,so i`m sure this seems like a basic thing to some....just figured i`d update in case any other computer num-nums have had a similar problem...
