What is everyone using? The standard linksys wireless router?

I'm looking for something that will not lose as much speed. I'm currently using a linksys...when I'm hardwired in my download speeds are 12Mb/s but when going wireless I'm down to about 4.5Mbps.

how far are you from the router?
I recently grabbed a range expander, I use my laptop in my football shed in the yard about 75-100' from my router inside. the expander grabbed the low signal and boosted it for me, fixed my issues not sure if thats any problem your having.

and without knowing and digging up the exact info the router is lynks along with expander, nothing exotic.
