Im not implying Wisconsin is an elite football school or job, but it is a top 25-30 job. Can't speak for all, but felt he was a little out of place. I think his sudden decision to leave for Oregon St proves that. Word is he was frustrated with the academic standards also....

Where it is real F ing COLD
Step down --must have been $$

I'm sure cash was big but I am hearing from people that he preferred it out west compared to the midwest. I would think the expectations in WI are a bit over the top as well. Fans here think they are championship caliber or should be every year when in actuality they are just a team who can pound poor teams but lose to the top teams. Also he probably didn't think he could recruit a top QB to the program

A delusional badger fan thinks that way. A realistic one expects to compete for a big10 championship at least. And maybe make a solid run high into the rankings every so often. As far as pounding weeker teams and losing to top teams......cant argue with that lately.

Supposedly Gary was whining about "too tough" admission standards.

One of the very best programs year after year in NCAA football. College town and awesome support. Go back where you belong, run, run run. Oregon state football, lol Funny!

Getting embarrassed on Nat'l TV by the 3rd string QB didn't help Gary, plus he was adamant about going back west when the opportunity knocked and it knocked right on time as he and Barry and Badger boosters didn't see eye to eye on a few things other than just coaching. Wisky is a lot of ol' money and ol' boy network. There is word that one of the Gruden's is on Barry's list as well if you can believe that.

Jay would leave the Redskins for a college job like Wisconsin. Jon will be an NFL HC again next year, perhaps in a New York Jet gear. Davis also has been in talks with Gruden but there would be more interest from the Niners should Harbaugh leave for another NFL or college job.
