The Dallas Wings have waived forward Megan Gustafson and guard Kennedy Burke, the team announced today. The Wings also moved Moriah Jefferson to the temporarily suspended list.

Gustafson, a four-year starter from Iowa, was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft. Through the preseason, she averaged 2.6 points and 3.0 rebounds a game.

Megan's size was going to be a problem from the get go...At 6' 3'' and no out side shot she couldn't play shooting forward and her lack of a dribble drive game limited her chances at power forward.

Was hoping Dallas would give her a chance to improve off the bench but it wasn't to be...

She really needed to work on her game at her size if she wanted to play in the WNBA knowing she was a tweener ....Iowa coach did her no favors against weaker teams not letting her round out her game instead of all those crip layups against 6' forwards.

Damn shame ...

Former Iowa State star survives final cut

Before the WNBA Draft, Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly made a prediction about Bridget Carleton and her professional chances.

?You get her into camp, you won?t be able to cut her. You just won?t. You?re just gonna sit in meetings and go, ?Carleton?s pretty good,?? he told the Ames Tribune in April.

That proved to be true. After three weeks of training camp and three preseason games, Carleton made the Connecticut Sun?s 12-player roster, surviving the final cut on Thursday. She is the first Cyclone to make a WNBA opening-night roster since Alison Lacey in 2010.

Making a WNBA team after being drafted No. 21 overall is no small feat. At least three players drafted ahead of Carleton ? No. 17 Megan Gustafson (Iowa), No. 18 Natisha Hiedeman (Marquette) and No. 20 Cierra Dillard (Buffalo) ? were cut in training camp.

Seattle Storm waive ...........

Anriel Howard (F) ? Mississippi St Waived June 5

all everything at Texas A&M and
Mississippi St played in 3 of 5 regular season games scoring 5 points..

Anriel like Megan Gustafson drafted to play forward lacking the ball handling skills and outside shoot you must have to make in the WNBA at 6' 3'' or shorter..

Anriel at 5' 11'' really had a tuff time of it . Just couldn't out quick the guards like she did in college and was lost among the trees in the paint..

Too bad cuzz she is a coach's dream on the floor ..never stops and crashes the boards and

and hardly ever takes a bad shot.

She will make money overseas playing hoops.

Not really.
She will be signing with a European team soon and there is a bidding war for her services over there. European ladies basketball tends to be a more traditional game whereas the WNBA is all jump shooting which Gustafson obviously doesn't do.
Bonus is the European leagues pay much better than the WNBA as they actually have fans of their game....:mj07:
She is such an amazing young woman. Iowa has already retired her jersey number which is only the 3rd woman's number to be retired in school history. She calls a tiny little town in Northern Wisconsin home--there were more woman on the Iowa basketball team than in her graduating class.
I never had seen a woman's basketball game before this season but ended up seeing two games in person and several others on TV. Can't say I'm a fan of it, but this season was special in Iowa City and my 12 year old daughter was and always will be a huge fan of Megan Gustafson and she learned a lot about having a positive attitude and giving it your all at a clinic given by the Iowa woman's basketball team that she attended with her intermediate school basketball team.

Good luck in Europe, Megan, and know there are a lot of young ladies back here in Iowa that will be following your career closely.
