handicapper B: french league guy
these picks are on the asian handicapping odds.
1) Ajaccio v Lens : he likes the AWAY TEAM
This is a match between a struggling home team and a guest team which haven't been beat for the last seven games. Lens coach Muller said he would be happy with a point but Lens being at ninth position isn't really what is in this club's ambition.
Ajaccio on his side has a pressure which will be on Lens because of their result in the first match against Ajaccio when the match finished with a draw. But Ajaccio will have it's own pressure to fight, and it's 17th place wont make anything easier for this club. The home team coach Courbis haven't pronounced the first eleven squad names, but it's well known that Argentinian striker Esnaider won't play due his injury. Ajaccio last match was a defeat against Nantes, with one goal in their net. Last home match Ajaccio lost against Marseille 0:2.
On the other side, Lens will be boosted up by the return of Vairless, who moralized the strikers John Utaka and Daniel Moreira which are fighting for their place under the "Sun". Lens last match was against Montpellier and they crushed the guests with 4:0. Last guest match Lens won against Lille 0:2.
It should be obvious that Lens has a lot on his side in this match, the good results in the last seven games, and good game, Ajaccio poor form, and full squad ready for this match. Pick away win, because, that's my choice.
2) AC Ajaccio v Marseille
Well Stade de Francois-Coty will not be a friendly host for a clash between their team Ajaccio and the guests Olympic Marseille. The two clubs, are in completely opposite table parts Ajaccio being 17th with just 21 point, and Marseille is currently based on 2nd place with 45 points, more than double comparing to Ajaccio.
Home side coach Rolland Courbis was once a coach of Marseille as well but was sacked after a defeat from AC Parma in UEFA Cup Final 1999, so he will surely seek for a revenge victory from his lads against his former club. He will have new blood in the team with recent singing Diomede Bernard who was a World Cup Champion with France 1998, and he came from Liverpool. Also he will have a strong attack lead by new Latin American duo Argentinian Juan Esnaider, and Uruguayan Walter Guglielmone. No injuries in Ajaccio squad. Last six match overview of Ajaccio looks like this: LDDWWD.
Opposite from his host coach Alain Perrin of Marseille, will have several problems with injuries. Captain and key defender Frank Leboeuf is ruled out with thigh injury, while Brazilian striker Fernandao has sciatica. Also with them two Nigerian Ibrahim Bakayoko (knee) and Lamine Sakho (sinusitis) are doubtful to show up on the pitch. The last six match overview of Marseille looks like this: LWDWLW.
Now my prediction. Despite all the injuries in Marseille dressingroom, I have faith that Daniel Van Buyten will along side with the Croatian goalkeeper Vedran Runje boost the teams moral to seek for a victory. There is no doubt that Ajaccio will also keep back and want a home win, to get away as possible from the relegation zone, but Marseille is a lot better team than Ajaccio and they won in the first match this season against Ajaccio at home with 3:1. I pick away win, with a possibility that Ajaccio could by some wonder manage to squeeze out a draw.
3) Bordeaux v Bastia
Ah yes, my two favorite clubs in the French Le Championnat. This will be a hard decision to make, Bordeaux or Bastia, Bordeaux or Bastia. Oh well Bordeaux, hehe.
Well its quite simple, Bordeaux will be without David Jemmali, and the rest of the squad is complete, coach Elie Baup said that it will be a difficult match but that there aren't any easy match in this season for Bordeaux. And their last six match record is: DWWWWD.
Bastia on the other hand, won against PSG this week, and with all right they were a better team in that match. Their squad is complete and their last six match record looks like: DWWWDW.
By overviewing this match you will clearly see that both teams are in a very good form, maybe a draw would be the most fare thing to do or to put that there will be 3 goals or over, but I pick a home win for Bordeaux, maybe it comes from my heart but at least I am honest.
4) BASTIA - PSG : PICK,HOME SIDE
Bastia is welcoming Parist Saint Germain at Wednesday evening at stade de Armand-Cesari-Furiani where they will seek to put another impressive win against "big clubs" on their table of home wins. Many big clubs have fallen on the gates of the Bastia, the latest victim was Auxerre which been defeated 2:0, and before them, Lyon have fallen with the same result. It will be a match of the giants, despite the position of both clubs in the league.
The home side, Bastia will welcome back the return of their captain and striker Lilian Laslanders after he recovered from a thigh injury he picked up in the clash against Lyon. In this match is also expected that recent sing up from Italian Lecce, the defender Philippe Billy will make his debut, which will bring up a sort of freshness in the squad. Bastia is currently ninth on the table with 35 points and a 3 home win run, while their last six games overview looks like this: WDWWWD.
PSG on the other hand has a lot of trouble with available players for this match. Team coach Luis Fernandez wont be able to count on strikers Martin Cardeti, Ronaldinho, Jose Aloiso, midfielders Hugo Leal and Andre Luiz, defender Paulo Cesar which all suffer from injuries, and adding to them, another striker Fabricio Fiorese is under suspension so he as well wont be able to run out on the pitch. When you count them all you get a number of 7 injured players which is more than half of the first team squad. If that wont influence on their style and form in the match I don't know what will. Especially because Aloiso, Cardeti, Ronaldinho and Paulo Cesar are the best scorers of the squad with 7,7,6, and 4 scored goals. PSG last six match overview is: DDWDWW. So the maximum they can achieve in Bastia, is a draw. But that's like a million to one chance.
Anyhow, the first match between these two teams ended with the result of a draw (1:1) at Paris. My opinion is that PSG will fall underneath the Bastian pressure.
