That Duke game
That Duke game
Really expected this Duke line to be a little bigger. Duke comes into Purcell with 8 players. Granted they are a very good complement of players but still, 8. They are tall and young. The ONLY chance I see of Duke staying in this game is S L O W I N G it way down. If they try to run with Lloyd and Turner they are going to be in real trouble.
Duke will be the biggest team that UND faces until they meet up with South Carolina. They g o 6'5", 6'3", and 6'2" across the front line. They are one of the top rebounding teams in the nation.
Notre Dame has been off for 8 days but I think that will help the kids instead of hurt them.
The way i see it; The scoring of UND will be too much for Duke. Duke will have to slow the game and try to make this game a race to 70. I am not sure they can do it. UND is 9-1 vs Duke including a three game sweep last year; I look for that to continue.
Notre Dame 77-60
`MD vs Michigan State: Michigan state plays only 6 players due to injuries... their 7th player is a volleyball player. The Spartans will play zone most of the game and look for 65% of their scoring to come from 2 players. This really should be a straight forward victory for Maryland. If the shots are falling it will be by 20 and then the game should go over; But there is no impetus for Maryland to destroy them. 1st matchup was 85-56. I expect this one to be similar. I would lean to the under due to the zone and MD is not the best 3 point shooting team. This will not be a fun game to watch.
MD 77-59
Alabama vs Texas A&M: Its up to Texas A&M. If they want to push the pace then this game will get real ugly. Bama is not a good team. I would not be surprised to see this one go 61-42 or thereabouts. Have to worry about Texas A&M looking ahead to Kentucky.
Short card... Don't love anything.
How big was that USC upset of CAL last night. Cal definitely looking ahead.

I have to keep in my mind that Oregon is really a one person team. As she goes (alleyene) the team goes. She had a DD last night but only 15/17 points. Oregon was in it until the last 5 minutes. Oregon beats the lowly teams but are just not ready to compete with the big guys...
