Lost the OVER on Tenn/Irish last night as Tennessee could not capitalize on 19 offensive rebounds. Up next for the Irish is the winner of UCONN and Duke. Pat Summit wouldn't be ducking Geno, now would she?
Baylor and A&M should be an amazing game to watch. The best women's game I've seen was 2006 final between Duke and Maryland and this should be right up there with that. I would love to see A&M break through, having lost the three previous matchups by a combined 15 points. The line seems right to me and I will just sit back and enjoy that game.
UCONN enters tonight's game without the usual buzz that has accompanied them the previous two years when they have been undefeated at this point in the year. Defense has been the calling card for this years girls. They rank number one in the country allowing opponents to shoot just 32% on the season. Only four times in thirty-six games did they allow a team to shoot better than 40%. Duke won't get many free points at the line, as Connecticut ranks 3rd in the nation in personal fouls and Duke is one of the worst foul -shooting teams, making just 64.5% as a team on the season.
The last time these two met, UCONN jumped to a 41-15 lead at the half, winning by 36 points. Lest you think that was an isolated incident, the Huskies have won the L3 games in this series by an average of 31.7 points.
11 should be no problem.
