Heres my opinion. If you dont want bettors to win then close your sports book all together get out the business.

Sports books know two things for sure:

1) 99.99 % of sports bettors lose every year

2) The remaining .01 % win every year and if safeguards
aren't in place to monitor, limit or ban their action, that small sliver
could possibly, over time, land a very devastating blow to a lot of shops.
Make no mistake about it, they ARE that sharp.
They know what they're looking for and, more importantly,
they understand why.

Sports books realize the reward is far greater than the risk,
but they are ever-vigilant for a very good reason.

Sports books on average win 4-7 % of every dollar they take in.Not favorable with the slots or table games for that matter. The difference in the sharps is if they win a wad you may not hear from them for a while thus eating in to that small percentage, whereas Joe Dick will gamble his winnings and paycheck back.
