Woods (12/1) has won the PGA Championship four times, most recently in 2006 and 2007. This major tournament was last held at Whistling Straits back in 2004, won by Vijay Singh.

Woods is having a season to forget for many different reasons. The most relevant one is his golf game, which has completely gone south. His +18 score last week at the Bridgestone Invitational was his worst as a professional. That was a course he?s won at seven times.

Tiger?s major tournaments this year haven?t been bad with a fourth at both the Masters and the U.S Open. He was 23rd at the British Open. However, he?s now finished 78th, 23rd and 46th in his last three tournaments and the mental aspect of his decline is starting to wear on him.

Phil Mickelson (10/1) is now the favorite, but is that a good thing? He shot an opening round 66 last week, but finished with scores of 68, 71 and 78. Lefty only needed to finish fourth or better to claim the world?s No. 1 ranking for the first time in his career. He ended up falling way short at 46th.

Mickelson has struggled in high pressure situations, and he hasn?t come through in previous chances to become No. 1. He did finish tied for sixth at Whistling Straits in the 2004 PGA Championship (Woods finished 24th).

Mickelson is a solid favorite (-155) over Woods (+125) in the individual matchup odds this week. That would have been hard to believe just a year ago.

Rory McIlroy (15/1) is now in third place in the odds as Lee Westwood has dropped out with a leg injury. McIlroy is still trying to win his first major and the 21-year-old is coming off a third-place finish at the British Open. He also won the Quail Hollow PGA tournament back in May.

Padraig Harrington (20/1) won the 2008 PGA Championship, played when Woods was injured. Hunter Mahan (22/1) won last week at Bridgestone.
