and fancy "Casa Fuentes" bar and cigar lounge inside the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace is fun place to smoke. They only sell Fuentes, but mix superb drinks and famous espresso. Place to have that fine Opus X you've been waiting for.

"Old School" Las Vegas usually means downtown. Old historic casinos here, but hordes of low-roller tourists too. Best place to party (and stay) by far is the Golden Nugget.
I suggest checking out many of the small sportsbooks on Glitter Gulch (now called "Fremont St Experience")--and they are very close together, so it's the best place to shop lines. My advice is to visit in late afternoon, look around books and find one you like. The Plaza has a circular lounge/bar upstairs that has bunches of TVs and is always quiet and dead, with nice view of the Gulch and cheap food.
only independent cigar shop/lounge downtown is "Bad Habits Cigar" 109 N. 4th Street (1 block up 4th from Fremont St Experience) small but cheapest of all I listed here.
best sportsbets for me in April are usually 2-team parlays of big pitching favorite (pitching arms strong and predictable at start of season, but bats take while to warm up) with some +1.5 puckline in a NHL playoff low-scoring defensive matchup.
