How long have you lived in Austin Sir do you like it and will you ever move ??
I live just south of Austin, about 15 miles and work in San Marcos which is 30 miles from Austin. I was born and raised here, then went to Lubbock to do some growing up before heading back. I love the hill country and surrounding areas of Austin.
Downtown Austin itself is frustrating with the traffic and number of people. I worked downtown from 2004-2008 and will never make that commute again. So many wasted hours on the Interstate and the population boom is still outgrowing the city's planning for traffic relief. Last month the city ran a commercial that said they have set up a hotline/website and will be taking suggestions from citizens on possible solutions.
That's my gripe, but there are many other things to love. SXSW and ACL are great. 6th Street is fun. Food (bbq and TexMex) and night life, and some large open parks like Zilker Park. Formula 1, Minor league Hockey and Baseball. Rodeos all of the time. It's nice to swing in to town and do some of these things and Austin is big enough that whatever you are in to, there will probably be an event that you can go to. Plus there is a Major College to root for and you don't even have to have attended. All you have to do is go to Walmart and buy a Longhorn shirt, and poof, you're a Longhorn.
It gets hot, July, August and September will have 30+ days of 100+
Winter is January and February. 32-60 degrees
If we move, it will be because Austin swallowed up my hometown of Kyle, but I don't see myself going far. There's some good people around these parts.
