Holland beats Serbia Montenegro 1-0 in a Boring Game
Another bad start for the Books Sunday, as all the money was on Holland and they pulled out a 1-0 victory. Both teams played their typically boring style of soccer and the Under came in easy, again hurting the books. The Netherlands scored in the 1 st half and never looked back, not letting Serbia get more than a few quality scoring chances.
Mexico beats Iran 3-1
The first half provided two goals. Mexico showed a little disorientation sending the game 1-1 into the half. The second half, the Mexican squad showed they're true scoring touch, punishing Iran with two more unanswered goals. The books took a bath with all the money on Mexico, Mexico -1.5 and the over. Look for Mexico to continue they're scoring touch throughout the rest of the tourney.
Who to Play for Monday's Games
Australia +160 vs Japan +180
On Monday we have a fascinating day. The early encounter is from Group F when Japan takes on Australia in what should be a tight affair. Both teams will be keen not to lose as the group heavyweights Brazil and Croatia don't meet till Tuesday. The Socceroos are a stronger team than most recognize and one thing you can always count on, is Australians playing big for their country. If you read my earlier reports, I think Australia can advance to the 2nd round. In order to do that, they must beat Japan . At +160, I like this bet and I like the draw at +190. Play both of these and so long as Japan does not win this game, you make money. My predicted score is 1-0 Australia with the goal coming in the middle of the 2nd half.
USA +300 vs Czech Rep Even
Group E opens Monday and the first game features USA v Czech Republic, with the USA publicly declaring ?We only fear Brazil?. A bit of extra spice has been added, though no doubt the well backed Czech's will be up for the job. This American team is coming to play after making it all the way to the Quarter Finals in 2002. They are getting no respect and over the last 10 years have played very good defense and have gotten timely goals from Donovan and Reyna. This is a very experienced team that has just come off their best year (2005) in the modern era, with a record of 13-3-4 . The Czechs can score and led their UEFA qualifying in goals scored with 35, but watch, how they go into a shell and come up with 1-0, 1-1 games against Italy and the US . This game has Draw written all over it. I can see slow moving soccer with the end result a 0-0 tie. BetWWTS has the draw at +200, but my favorite play on this game is the Under. I don't mind laying the -150, as there is no-way 3 goals are scored. My predicted score is 0-0 or 1-1 in this game.
Italy -200 vs Ghana +650
Italy plays Ghana in the final match and the Football World will be looking to see if the Italians can concentrate on immediate matters instead of the corruption charges which threatens to severely tarnish their domestic league (Serie A). The Azurri field a mighty squad, backed by Zambrotta and his 3 other Juventus teammates. I never like laying -200, but Italy surely will win this game and by more than 1 goal. My predicted score is 2-0, so take Italy and the Under at BetWWTS and have yourself a 2-0 ticket for Game 3 Monday.
