World Cup Draft Interest?

Hopefully this is cool with Jack but was wondering if there might be any interest in a World Cup draft?

It starts on Friday and there are 32 teams. I was thinking if we could get 16 people we can have a random draft and each person would get 2 teams. $50 or $100 a man. 1st and 2nd place get money.

I'm not huge on soccer but it would be cool to have a rooting interest besides the USA and for the Canada members at Madjacks, you know, have a team to root for since your not in it (personal burn).

If we can't get 16 maybe 8 would suffice and each person would then get a group.

Right now?there are 8 groups (a-h) of 4 teams each. Each group will send their top 2 teams to the field of 16, that?s when the real pool will begin. <o:p></o:p>

With an opt in of 20.00 the pool would be 160?with a probable payout of top 2 finishers 1<SUP>st</SUP> 120 2<SUP>nd</SUP> 40<o:p></o:p>

Today?s draw was to see who gets to pull the first team from the hat once field of 16 is decided. Each person will get 2 teams?one from each side of bracket for possibility of playing self in final (and claiming both prizes). <o:p></o:p>
I had all 32 teams assigned to 8 different players during lunch today (So, Da, Jm, Lt, Nv, Tc, Ts, and player to be named). Each person got 4 teams. Whomever has the most teams make it into the field, gets to draw first and gets a FREE (covered by me) entry into tourney. If there is a tie for whomever has most teams in?the person with the least teams in field then gets free entry (though coin flip will decide who gets to draw teams first) ?if that also is tied (players w/least teams in): no free entry. <o:p></o:p>

Once the final 16 are decided, the heads up play will include point spread goals into equation. For example. If Tom has <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on">Spain</st1:country-region> who is favored by 1.5 goals vs Todd who has <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Germany</st1:place></st1:country-region> and the final of that game finished say? SPAIN 3 GERMANY 2 -Todd would take control of the advancing team of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Spain</st1:place></st1:country-region>, with Tom losing via pointspread. The pointspread inclusion is to level the playing field giving each team a legitimate chance of covering, if not winning. <o:p></o:p>
