I am definitely pulling for the Italians and the Portugese here in these semifinals. As I posted a few weeks ago, I bet them both to win the cup before the tourney started and both are presenting a nice payday if they can do just that. I would sure love to see them both advance to the final match but it sure is a difficult proposition.

However, as I do think Italy will prevail over Germany, I am not as confident in Portugal's ability to advance past a peaking French squad.

I may do a little hedging tomorrow but I haven't even looked at that game yet. Just my initial thought to be concerned about Portugal.

a toughie for the Portuguese to advance against a known rival in France ...not so for Italy who's enemy this time is a classic one and has been succesful in advancing to Finals.
Germany as a host will be the one to put the pressure and may get the one goal for this game (think that is the final score)
