I have gotten off to a solid start so going to start posting my plays.

Japan Pick (+110) for 2.5*... In all honesty, this appears to be a 1-1 tie in the making. However, I'm going to back Japan as I expect Australia typically nevers makes the World Cup.

USA (+300) for 2* & +.5 (-115) for 2*... A complete homer play, but going to back the Americans. I know Czech Republic is awesome and could win going away, but I'm hoping for a little magic just like the 1994 & 2002 World Cup teams brought to the USA. Hopefully the USA at least ties so I break even.

By the way, the Japan +110 at pick'em makes a tie a push. I considered the +185, but I thought the +110 was much safer.

USA 1st half (+325) for 1*... Let's hope the Americans score early and often. USA up 1-0 at half and wins 2-1.

Italy -160 for 2.5*... Ghana doesn't appear very good and a tie would be huge for them. Italy wins 2-0 is my best guess.

Rough start as Japan allows 3 goals in the last 7 minutes. A bunch of losers IMO.

A bad start going 1-2 starting my World Cup Thread. I guess you just need to play every favorite. Seriously, there hasn't been one upset in the first 4 days! The biggest upset was Trinidad getting a draw against Sweden. At least I predicted the Italy final score correctly.

I have to back Korea Republic -105 for 2*. Togo's coach just quit the team over his salary and I have a feeling this will be a huge distraction. Korea at least has World Cup experience and hopefully they will be ready to play. Prediction: Korea 2 Togo 1

Going to play Korea Republic -105 for 3*. I researched the game more and really like the play. Togo should be in disarray after their coach quit over the weekend.

France -145 for 3*. France won it all in 1998 and although Switzerland isn't bad, they aren't known as a futbol powerhouse. French have a solid team and are predicted by many to make the semifinals. Prediction: France 2 Switzerland 0

Still pondering Brazil as they are now -300!!! I can get Croatia +1 (+150) and I can get Croatia @ +1000 on the money line. Sure Brazil should win, but ???

Damn French couldn't score one goal. They were actually lucky to tie as Swiss outplayed them most of the game IMO.

Draw +420 for 1*
ML (+1050) for .5*

I'm hoping we see a 1-1 tie (I doubt we see another 0-0, but who knows?). Croatia is a middle of the pack team and I'm not sure why bettors took Brazil from -225 for -425... when the action is this lopsided, I like to go the other way.

I was going to add Croatia +.5 for 2nd half, but the line went from +135 to +110 in a couple minutes.

Going to hope Croatia ties this game at 1-1 so I make a profit. I also don't want to get destroyed by Brazil winning 2-0.

An upset is way overdue and these teams appear very evenly matched. Spain is playing closer to home is the main reason I see them being favored. I feel an upset to start the day.

Prediction: Ukraine 2 Spain 1

A couple more very evenly matched teams. Looks like a 0-0 or
1-1 tie at first glance. However, I have a good feeling one of these teams will pull an upset early.

Prediction: Saudi Arabia 1 Tunisia 0

Nice job Ukraine... big and slow obviously. 2-4-1 record now... OUCH!

Looks like people are pounding Tunisia which hopefully is a good thing for me. Sick of getting my ass kicked.

The bad beats continue for me in soccer. England scores 2 goals in the final 10 minutes to beat me.

Upgrading Sweden -.5 (-110) for 3*. Every single favorite keeps winning so I expect Sweden to do the same.
