Is Kenna James not female? If so, there are 2 women. Sure sounds female...

GM,

I didn't attempt to look over the names and determine which were female.... I took that information from this:

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 00:58:00
Title: Sarah Biley Eliminated
Log: Sarah Biley is eliminated by Ray Sanchez when her A-10 is called by his A-A. Although a 10 hit on the flop, the turn brought an Ace, and Biley is drawing dead. One female remains in the field.

fossilman's chip count is way down from tuesday... wonder what happened?
Same with Rod Pardey Jr. After being the chip leader for good chunks of the past couple days, he's just about history now. I'd love to know what happened to both of them....

Title: Schedule Reminder

Log: Now that we're getting closer to the end, here's a reminder of the schedule for the remainder of the tournament.

Day 5 - Wednesday, July 13: Play starts at 12:00 noon PDT. Play will continue until it is down to the final three tables, which is 27 players.

Day 6 - Thursday, July 14: This is the first day of action at Binion's Horseshoe downtown. Play will begin at 3:00 pm PDT, and continue until the final ten players are at the same table. They will then continue playing at the TV table until the unfortunate TV bubble is burst, and only nine players are left.

Day 7 - Friday, July 15: The Final Table! By the time the final table starts at 2:00 pm PDT, you should know everything about these nine people, from their first poker game to their most recent tournament victory. They play down to a single winner, who will become the 2005 World Series of Poker champion.

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 01:15:00

Title: $50,000 Chips Are on the Tables

Log: For the first time at this year's World Series of Poker, $50,000 chips are being introduced to the tables to reduce the size of some of the chip stacks. They are subtle chips, with a tan and brown color scheme that is reminiscent of the camoflauge used during Desert Storm and the Iraq War. In this tournament, those chips definitely represent some heavy artillery.

According to our sources, those are the highest denomination chips that will be used this year. A standard stack of 20 chips will be worth $1,000,000. (That's non-negotiable, so don't try cashing those in at the cashier's cage.) So at the final table, whoever ultimately wins will have a little over 56 stacks of chips. Picture it in your head, and then picture your favorite player sitting behind them.

Title: Matusow vs. Tex

Log: Mike Matusow limps on the button, and Tex Barch follows him in. The flop comes Qh-Jc-2c. Tex checks, and Matusow bets out $36,000 in chips. Tex calls. The turn is the 5h. Tex checks again, and Matusow makes it $100,000 to go. Tex calls again. The river is the Kh. Tex checks again, and Matusow goes into the tank. He comes up firing, making a $250,000 bet. Now it's Tex's turn to go in the tank. Eventually he calls, and Matusow shows 8h-6h for the flush. Tex mucks his hand. Matusow now has $3,130,000. Tex has $1,530,000.

Matusow recounted his thinking for CardPlayer.com saying that he sensed weakness in Tex so he bet at the flop. Tex didn't go away, but Matusow still thought he was a bit weak so he fired another barrel on the turn. When Tex called again he was ready to give up on the bluff, but then his heart hit on the turn, so he actually had a made hand, and that's when he made the big bet.

===============================

Date / Time: 2005-07-13 13:44:00

Title: James Butt (Table 120) Eliminated in 54th Place ($173,880)

Log: There is a preflop raise, reraise, and call between James Butt and Sean Sheikhan. The flop comes 10h-5s-4c, and both players are quickly all in. Butt shows pocket queens (Qh-Qc), but Sheikhan has pocket aces (Ac-Ad). Butt is the shorter stack, and must catch a queen to stay alive (two outs). The turn card is the Kd, the river card is the 3h, and James Butt is eliminated in 54th place, earning $173,880.

In other featured table news, Joseph Stillman has been moved to the ESPN stage, and he's sitting in seat 9.

Nice job for a guy from Indy

he must have run into some tough luck, he was #10 in chip lead after day 5 and then eliminated the next day.
