Some notes:

*SRogers won last nite. 1st match after 14-month layoff. Returned after knee surgery. Nice win in comeback for the hometown girl. But she may be vulnerable to emotional letdown in next match vs Ostapenko.

*Overcast weather. Schedule post-poned until 1pm. I'm really not sure they'll be able to play today.

I'm a little surprised Petkovic is favored over Lepchenko. Petkovic collapsed + retired at Australian Open, and then she lost to fossil Venus Williams in recent event. Lepchenko did win H2H match in this event last year.

ChuckyTheGoat sighting:00hour

I have been sighted. Winners harder to find.

I was wrong at least twice:
*Play did resume. Still overcast, but rain broke.
*Petkovic destroying Lepchenko. 6-0, 1st set.

Announcers just noted that Petkovic will tie current field in Career Charleston SC wins. This will be her 13th, so maybe a deeper run this year.

Petkovic wins in Straight sets. 2nd set was closer, tho.

Tonite, local 17-year old Navarro makes her pro debut. Had success on Junior circuit.

Just one play for WED:
*SRogers +237. 100 to win 237.
...Hometown girl, will be well-supported. She likes playing here + upset Keys at similar price here in past. Took her time to recover from injury, but looked healthy in return last match.

I admit to being poorly-prepared for this tournament. So, do as u see fit. Good Luck.

No opinion on Petkovic vs Sakkari. I thought Lepchenko looked terrible last out, and Petko struggled to put her away in 2nd set. FWIW, Sakkari had a longer match (than Petko) yesterday.

Rogers loses. Good value for $$. Up 5-1 in 3rd set, loses in tie-breaker. -100, on 100 risked.

THUR opinions. Note: I'm NOT betting real $$ on any of these:

*Sakkari +390 looks way too rich to me.
...Sakkari won handily vs Petko. Bertens is defending champ. But I feel like the gap isn't nearly this big.

*Ostapenko +165 worth a look vs Keys.
...Osta not having a great season thus far. I can say that she was decidedly the VISITOR in match vs Rogers. But she was very strong down the stretch.
