What Nick was trying to explain here simply is that most of (or at least many) non-wrestling fans don't even know that about 95% of true wrestling fans are perfectly conscious of the "fake" thing, of the fact that it's just a show. Well that's how I read it anyways.
That's why they're ignorant in a certain way. They "don't know" that "we know"...
I personally love wrestling, the main reason being the joke part. No kidding here...
