Merry Christmas to everyone...leaving in a few minutes to run over daughters house where my 3 grand children are awaiting Santa Claus...one of them is 10 and knows the truth..she will help her 2 cousins distribute and organize the Santa's gift...not sure when I will be back here ..we are staying at my daughters friend house here in Philly only 5 houses down from her house.. she will have a baby on Dec 27th...its nice..my 3 daughters and son and their kids are here..I love washington over Houston
not sure of the line yet
I think it will be Washington -4 over Houston ****

Huskies are really good... the Stewart freshmen is an impact player...might be the 2nd or 3rd freshmen in the country. At 6'9 he can score and rebound...a tough match up for any team esp Houston.. the other 6'9 MacDaniel is another stud..can play inside or outside..Wright is another 6'9 scorer and rebounder..these guys are loaded up front..they have 2 good gds that know their rolls...Hopkins plays that tough 2-3 Jimmy Boes zone defense ..the wings are have length and are mobile..Coogs have the best shooter in the country in Grimes..and he has to be salivating playing vs a zone..but Hopkins sat by Jimmy Boe as his asst and saw many Big East shooters have problems ...Coogs have some size with White and Gresman ..but think with the size and length the Coogs are in for a tough match up...not sure how Hopkins is going to attack and contest Grimes but think he shouldn't get to many open looks..Huskies have 4 or 5 guys that can shoot from the perimeter, can block shots and rebound inside...think Huskies can win this by 6-8 points and Coogs never see zone defenses...so they have to adjust and change their offense...
haven't seen a line yet
Washington -3 or -4 is a solid play
if its Washington under that I love the play... will be back later with the line
Washington -4 ****
-3 *****
-2 *****
-1 *******
love that
pk the same
if Coogs are favored + forget it...

back later with the line...if someone knows it please post merry christmas to everyone ..hope everyone has a nice day...gotta run grandpa has his assignments.

Washington +1 over Houston ******
I am really surprised that the Huskies are the dog..I must be missing something..I capped the game last nite not knowing any lines and thought Huskies should be a small favorite..I know Houston although doesn't have the front line and size of Huskies is one of the best rebounding teams in the country..but its gds hit the bds also..Huskies lost one game to Zaga and with a few minutes were only down by 3 or 4...think the 2-3 zone with its tall gds and front line cause big time problems for the Coogs today...Coogs have beaten some decent teams this yr but they haven't seen a player like Stewart inside...or a front line this big and athletic..I still remember Tx St giving the Coogs a game winning only by 7 or 8..and they played UTA..the only top team they played was Ok St and they won by 6...If Huskies play there A game and Coogs play their A game Huskies win and cover ..

My bad on the Washington-Houston game sorry..didn't see any of it and today looked at the box score...Wash up by 16 in 1st half...Stewart had a big game hitting for 25 pts but no else stepped up...Thought Grimes must of had a big game but he only had 14 pts and was 2-6 from the 3...but Coogs outrebounded them 34-29...Mills and White had 19 pts each for the coogs..Coogs only had 7 turnovers to Huskies 15...but when teams play vs zone defense you do have less turnovers unless teams trap in zones...the best bet would of been Washington pk in 1st half...when playing zones or different defenses it takes time for teams to adjust ..think Wash was up by 5 at the half...I guess Coogs at half time figured out the zone..that would of been the best play..but I didn't think of it until after the game...this weekend in NY they named a gym after one of my coaches I went up against for 17 years.. He is in the Hall of fame and ran a 1-3-1 zone defense his who;e career.. he has over 600 wins..I was going to be invited to the ceremony but the committee thought I was in Texas...If I was there I would of spoken only a few minutes saying" I could be the only coach still alive and lost the most games in this gym...I went head to head with him for 17 years played them 2 times home-away...every year.. Think my record was 6-12 in his gym and maybe 10-7 in mine...but playing his 1-3-1 was so tough..we all knew it was coming...like Cuses Boes 2-3...but thinking back I think I always played better in the 2nd half vs his zone..we adjusted some what.. to bad I didn't think of that the other nite in the Houston-Washington game...
I have such great memories in that gym...one of my all time favorite last second win came in that gym... we are down 1 with the ball with 7 seconds left.. I call a time out... ball is right on sideline by my bench.. I dissect a play and have my 6'6 superstar who has 35 pts,15 rebounds,11 assist and more... I know Coach JK is going to double team so I use my star as a decoy..as we break from the huddle my star looks at me and says "Coach ,just let me get the ball and I'll score. As we are about to break from the huddle I yell scratch that play.. let SB get the ball and get out of his way... we inbound the ball and SB gets it..he beat the wing on the 1-3-1 and goes baseline..the post center comes over to double team and the top gd drops in the lane..SN does a quick shake and bake move and get around the post defender..the pt gd that drops is to far up.. SN gets a glass swish layup at the buzzer and we win... next day the headline in the sports section is SL wins in last second shot by SN...the writer says a designed last second play called by Coach Box won the game...lol a year after that play the movie Hoosiers comes out..almost the same thing happens with Chitwood and Gene Hackman he runs a play and Chitwood says " just give me the ball...the irony of that play and movie was we were in Platsburgh NY playing in the state semifinals and had the nite off.. Hoosiers was playing and siting in that theater was my superstar SN ...what happened a year before was exactly what happended..almost I won that semifinal game in the regions , won the 1st final 4 game in Glenn falls but lost the championship game..and more irony..the opposing team boxed and one my star . Even though SN broke a scoring record that game we lost..
