Its 2000 channels from A-Z, with every movie ever made more or less, and it takes 15 minutes to install onto any operating system.

basically, hmdi out to your tv from your computer and it acts as your dvr, or media server.

I called jack about it awhile back but thought i would just tell you guys for free.

:0008

Its streaming and 720p - 1080p depending on the feed.

Its worth taking the time to research. Let me know if anyone has questions.

If you pay 150 a month for cable you are paying 150 too much.

I installed it, pretty neat. Where do you get the live streams? Do I have to code with wireshark or can I get it from the SAP streams? Do I find those on twitter? Just curious on how to find the content. Thanks!

Pretty darn cool I must say. Quick question for you guys, I know this Navi-d will work with xmbc and boxee. I'm wondering if there is any way to make it work with a Roku player.

Then I might need to cancel cable all together....

OK guys, figured it out for those of you that have a roku player and want to stream the free channels right to your TV. You have to go get playon as a roku private channel. Their is a 14 day trial, then you can pay $5 a month or $40 a year or $129 and a free Roku player and lifetime subscription. Get playon and add navi-x and you're all set.

what are you some kind of tech genius

holy chit

no way I could get this going.

I might need to pay someone.

Maybe I could start a business advertising to get rid of your cable bill 1,2,3

I will come to your home with all the gadgets to wire your computer into your cable and wire your tv into your roto box and get a usdi cable and switch it to modem form and then .....

remember when yyz couldnt change a bulb on his car light.

thats how I feel about this

Wow. This stuff is way over my head, but I'm very interested. Would I need a computer at each television?

I'm pretty good with computers and web dev having worked at an internet company for the past 3+years. Having said that, any moron can do this. It's just as easy as downloading movies from torrents. You need either a computer, a boxee, or a toku at each TV. Read the basics on XBMC and it's a piece of cake. Basically, all you need to do is download xbmc and download the navi - x plugin to your computer and from programs search for the navi - x program and add it as a zip file. I have yet to put it on the roku, but that should be a piece of cake as well. If anybody is having problems with it feel free to email me at my user name at hotmail.com.

if you just want to invest $200 and get the jailbroken apple tv 2 with xbmc (youtube has many examples) buy it on ebay, plug it in and enjoy every tv media displayed program ever made.

All you need is the Apple TV 2, hdmi cord, and input w/ hdmi in to your tv, electricity, a decent bandwidth internet connection.

My current project is adding ambient light to my tv. it is an xbmc plugin using an led source for light. not to difficult.

enjoy fellas,

Scott,

Hope all is well. This is a gold mine. Think Tupperware party for men.

I could have tried to sell the info but thought I would give it to you for free to do as you will.

If you don't have the tech skills just spend the 165 on a jailbroken apple TV 2 with xbmc and navi-x installed

Movies
TV
Music
Everything media related.

Woody, did you cancel your cable for this?

Navi-x is not the only cool feature, there are more like:

Bluecop (Free Cable)

Pseudo TV

Sports Devil

There is a bunch of them here:

http://www.appletvhacks.net/2012/05/11/top-10-best-xbmc-add-ons-for-apple-tv-1-and-apple-tv-2/

I also read that there are some private streams you can get if you know where to look (like twitter and other places). I imagine this is the case. My only concern is one or two of the stations I looked at seemed a bit grainy. Most were pretty damn good.

I've had this for a year Jon. I promise you I know it backwards and forwards. When teaching a math class to new students its easier to count apples and oranges than calculus.

I'm glad you're enjoying it.
