heart loves Yale......
but money is on Princeton -2 in this one.
I think the line is a lot lower than it ought to be. Bettors might be low on Princeton because they were beaten soundly by Penn in a marquee game on Tuesday. Another factor could be the 48 hour rest for Princeton, compared to Yale, which last took the floor on Saturday. Another reason might be the neutral court factor.
But here's the thing. The "neutral" court here is hardly neutral, and thus OVERVALUED for Yale. The game is being played at the Palestra in Philly which pisses me off as a Yale fan). I am hearing on the radio that Yale (which must travel appro. 4 hours to the game) will have about 2,000 fans there. On the otherhand, Princeton (which is almost a suburb of Philly) will have more than 3 times that number. Neutral? Please......Fordham or Columbia would have been neutral.
I was taught at a young age to never go against a streak. I've also noticed that in college sports, teams tend to dominate other teams for long periods of time. Then, after a breakthrough, things ca turn around. I don't think Yale has COMPLETELY turned it around just yet. (They may be just a year away)
Even though Yale beat Princeton in New Haven last month (in front of the wildest crowd at Payne-Whitney I can ever recall), the Ivy League championship STILL goes through Princeton and Penn. Until this trend breaks, my money is with the program with the proven track record.
Big play........Princeton -2
Stag
And it's always good to know that Ivy guru Superbook is on Princeton as well (got an e-mail from him earlier). Like it even more, and I am looking forward to his views....... and others)
More to come on this game later.
