In his last appearance the 26 year-old right-hander allowed just one run on four hits over nine innings of work against the Red Sox. Today will be his second time this season on three days rest and on the previous occasion he pitched eight strong innings against the Expos, allowing just four hits and no earned runs while fanning six and not issuing a walk. In 15 career appearances including 13 starts against the Yankees Halladay is 4-3 with a 3.90 ERA.

Mike Mussina (10-5, 3.14 ERA) pitched eight innings against the Boston Red Sox Monday and didn't figure in the decision despite allowing just one earned run. Mussina has been excellent on the road this season but lifetime and the SkyDome he is just 6-6 with a 3.77 ERA.
