Alot of talk, as there always is, about the Yankees in the local media, and I'm here to tell you it's hogwash.
It comes down to one thing: The Yankees don't know how to handle adversity.
When a team like my dearly departed Reds wins a game, it sounds perfectly natural when the commentators say: "The Reds feel they can build on this win..", but from Yankees, and their announcers, it smacks more of desperation. There's a reason they've had such a hard time overcoming a variety of hitting slumps and piss-poor pitching performances.
And now, laughably, when their pitching is beginning to come about, and the bats are showing some signs of life, they make a sweeping move like they did today. One step forward, two steps back.
Then, there's the talk about the SOFT May schedule. Don't you believe it. Aside from the D-Rays, and one game against the Royals on the 31st, EVERY TEAM THEY PLAY IN MAY HAS A BETTER RECORD. Every one.
Look out New york, George will be rampaging in June...
