Yankees last two wins...

It's interesting to note that the last two wins for the Bronx Bombs came not from timely hitting, but from timely pitching collapses...

And yet, I still see the line beginning to favor the Yanks tonight, too...

I know Baltimore's been struggling, but they've run into the red hot Braves, too, so there's good reason...

Any thoughts? I still plan to load up on the Os, but wondering by how much...

Jackanape -

I like the O's tonight too. See my thread Yanks/O's info.

I was on the Yankees last night as a system play. The Yankees also gave away runs to the mets.

Yankees:

With the score tied at 1-1, the Mets capitalized on three Yankee mistakes in the seventh to capture a three-run advantage. Chris Woodward stroked a two-out double and took third on Randy Johnson's ball four wild pitch to Ramon Castro.
Marlon Anderson then hit a routine ground ball to Robinson Cano, but the young second baseman couldn't field the ball cleanly and Woodward raced home.
Tom Gordon relieved Johnson and allowed a slow rolling ground ball off Reyes' bat, which Giambi launched over the head of Gordon who tried to cover first.
Castro and Anderson raced home on the mishap, staking the Mets to a 4-1 lead.

It swings both ways-

Yeah, I remember that circus...it was like the first game of their earlier series this year...as if neither team wanted to win. That was a 1-1 game, at it's core...but I still get all sour when I bite down on a 1600 swing! LOL

Either way, I think the Os should roll tonight...especially with the big "Yankee Summit" coming up tomorrow. These guys have to feel like there's an axe hanging over their necks right now...and they haven't exactly responded well to pressure this year.

A lot of teams can't handle the heat in the kitchen in the late innings against the Yanks who thrive off it. Every team that plays them thinks it's a monster game. The Yanks showed last night against the scrub Met team that they are NY's professional team. Their pitching hasn't been there for them every game but they are a team of pro-hitters and fielders. The late innings they buck up and let the weaker talent Mets fall apart on their own. Everybody is coming after them and the Yanks, even with this off year, still are the Yanks. It takes some talent to handle success and the Mets don't know how to, as they fell apart with the sweep of their in town rivals in their grasp.

2-35 when trailing after 8 innings

they are having a solid season for a team that has a 207 million dollar payroll

get with the program ,when you lose 2 of 3 at home to the mets and 3 of 4 to the d rays :scared

wasn't a jab

fact

only :mj20: post bs on the score of a game long before it's final

No worries. I don't read your threads anyway, it's just seemed like a long one about the Yanks/Mets game so I looked into it. Actually wasn't surprised by the melt down.

GL on your action
