joba is lights out and hughes is an ace on 75 % of the teams in the MLB.

i really didn't believe it until the last few weeks, but seriously who is better than them in the AL? keep in mind that other than 1 horrible month the yanks are by far the best team in baseball

LMAO. Ever heard of consistency? You would think if they are the best team in the AL they could at least have a .500 road record. Hughes is an ace on 75% of most teams?? He made one good start and now he's an ace for most teams. LOL. What are you smoking?

just watching baseball the same way I have for the last 20 + years. I GUARANTEE yanks make the playoffs and from there who knows. they were 14.5 games back of bostoc and have it down to 5. now 5 is still a lot but lets call a spaid a spaid, the sox are shitting.

And hughes IS a top notch pitcher, if he was on 75 % of the AL teams he would be a 1-3 at worst.

boston blah blah blah blah blah, all I know is cant hold down a 4 run lead in the 8th

The New York bullpen should know all about blowing leads. Pitching not exactly having a stellar year with the pitching.

Appears that we have a homer alert.

For $200+ MILLION; I would hope so !! The American league isn't that good anyway. Look to the other league for your WS winner. Det & Clev are average at best. I'm not saying the National league is any better, there is a lot of average BB being played. How did the Cards win last yr ? In a short series, hot pitching can beat anyone.

wah wah 200 mill boo hoo. who gives a shit. take giambi, pavano and damon (worthless) out of that equation and the yanks are on par with 1/2 the other teams. I know, easier said than done, but I am talking about guys that contribute nothing.

and by the way, come on bro. if the yanks were in the NL they would be the best team by a mile.

Oh I forgot, the NL is so "sophisticated"

if havin to take your best pitcher out b/c of a hitting change is right, th NL dont want to be wrong.

On The Other Side
The Yanks are the second best team in the AL. All season long, I have thought the Angels were better, but Los Angeles won't get it done this year because Shields has been very shaky in the setup role. I don't trust him in a close game anymore. He really seems to be struggling with his control when I have seen him pitch. Therefore, if these two teams were to meet in the playoffs, I like the Yankees' chances in a close game. Don't kid yourself though, Boston is a better team than New York. The Red Sox win at home, and they win on the road. They have more speed than the Yankees (Lugo, Crisp, Pedroia), and at this point in their careers, I'll take Papelbon over Rivera. The Sox are not only the best team in the AL, they are the best team in baseball. That doesn't mean they will win it all, just look at the Cards last year, but they are the best team from top to bottom.

I am not a Boston fan at all. Just love how people bet on NYY and those that have bet on them all year have lost their ass. NYY is still a team with less than average pitching and a very good lineup...there are several of these type teams out there. They have benefitted lately from the weak schedule and now catch a Cleveland team playing terrible baseball that has lost 8 out of their last 11. If NYY was so good they wouldn't be in the position they are in now and wouldn't be below .500 on the road.

NYY still bringing up the rear in the ML standings for all MLB teams. The problem with betting New York is that unless you are playing them on the RL you can't make a profit betting on them. For those that have bet every NY game this year, they would be down $1338.

One of the few times they have blown a lead that late in a game.Only thing that upsets me is trading gabbard for Gagne, for simple fact that we dont need him.

Remember the Sox have been on the road alot lately while the Yanks have been playing sub .500 teams until this Clev. series.

5 games is a big lead, but you never know if the Yanks play lights out for rest of season they just might, but theres no room for error on there side.

Also remember that winning 14-8 every nite will catch up with you eventually IMO!!
