Should I be concerned about JSCOINMINER that keeps attacking my computer? It usually hits in the evening, probably 4-10 times a night. Norton stops it but it keeps on trying. There are differing opinions out there about it and it's been going on for about a week so I have just been ignoring it.

Run a full scan overnight - norton or old school malwarebytes

Sounds like a trojan that keeps replicating itself

Have you noticed any slow downs?

I've done both many times over the last week or two. Last night it popped up about 3 times that I noticed.

Not sure about slow downs, that might just be in my head.

thanks

I just thought you might know about it off the top of your head. Thought maybe you have dealt with it and knew exactly what to do. I can go through all the removal suggestions I found if it bothers me too much.

Not something I've seen but I'm counting more beans than fixing midget porn these days

My quick search popped up all of the same removers you talked about

I did have a slight revelation - The js in jscoinyadayada I'm sure stands for java script - You may have accidentally added an add-on to a web browser. Sometimes they default an add when presented with a click ok to continue

Check your add-ons/plugins/extensions on ccleaner
go to tools
browser plugins
Check all of the tabs
and see if you see anything that jumps out at you

I'd also go to
tools
uninstall
sort by date - newest to oldest
see if anything jumps out at you

Sounds like Norton has you protected but if it continues to pop up I would recommend going through the online removal processes to get it off your computer.

If you run in to any trouble - let me know

Nothing strange. Maybe CC got rid of it.

I like your optimism

Unlikely that CC cured the issue

With it being JavaScript it could be caused by the website you are visiting trying to initiate a download. If it mentions a download then that will be the cause (99%)

Screenshot norton popup next time and email to me if you don't mind - note the website address if you can - example: http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/...ers-Pictures&p=3098306&viewfull=1#post3098306

Everyone else - Please just wait until April 18th to have computer problems, I'll have more availability.
