Wifey has done the brine deal when doing a whole chick in the oven

Did you ever try the pineapple spicy chicken we discussed a while back
Grilled a bone in ribeye and Iowa sweet corn last weekend. Nothing better.
Do you guys eat this cut of meat?
Been some mighty fine corn this season on the eastern side of the state.
Heard it's dry out your way; what's that doing to the sweet corn?
This time of year I'm nearly a vegetarian. Sweet corn and all the veggies coming ripe in my garden every night for dinner along with amazing Muscatine cantaloupe and watermelons.
When I do add meat to the meal, most of it is locally sourced. My beef comes from a farm that I drive by at least weekly while working.
Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa :toast:
I'm grilling 5-6 nights a week this time of year and it's been great this summer with the cool weather.

Been really dry here reds. Talked to my produce dude Saturday about his crop and he said he is watering the shit out of the corn. It might be his best ever.
His cantaloupes are unbelievably good this year also.
Where you are at is there farmer's stands along the road?
Take care my friend and
GO HAWKS
Two and a half weeks until Iowa kicks the season off against the Wyoming Cowboys at Kinnick. GO HAWKS!
If you make it over for a game let me know and I'll have plenty of your favorite adult beverages and food ready for you at our tailgate....:toast:
Yeah, roadside stands everywhere-- even plenty of high school kids with pickup trucks parked with overflowing beds of sweet corn and other veggies.
We have gotten plenty of rain-- the Mississippi had some minor flooding, but the smaller rivers like the wapsi have flooded several times this year.
Haven't had to water the garden since we planted it back in May. [emoji41]
