On the course!
So this father comes home one day to find his 13 year old son bangin' his gramma.

Dad screams, "What the hell are you doing screwing my mother?!!"

The kid says, "Well, I figure you're fckin' mine!"

Fletch, sounds like a great Pa
Mine unfortunately was never around when I was growing up too many girlfriends
(He spent too much time cheatin on my Ma)
But he also was a workaholic Being a Metro Cop for 30 + years (most cops cheat) along with a Lineman, School hall monitor, Dog catcher, Judge and numerous other jobs.
He also saves everything he earns which is why he is worth alot (7-digits).
But as far as a father figure and good husband?
He aint worth diddley squat

Guys when I posted this it was more out of fun then anything else. I see some strong remarks here and can feel some pain. Never thought about my own life. My Father who divorced my Mother when I was 3. I saw twice because he left town. My step Father who I called my Real Father was Great to me. Mom hitched up with Dad when I was 6. Now he to is gone much to young with heart proplems. That was a couple years back. Now I am 59 with 4 kids and 4 grand kids. Im getting better at it every day. Always learning and hopeing to be a good Dad and Grandad. Some of you Guys and Gals with out no one to call Dad. Or lost your Dads. Call me Dad. I Would'nt mind that at all.

My Dad is a retired Methodist minister, U.S. navy chaplain, and retired Veteran's Administration Chief of Chaplains (Loa Angeles)

My Dad is the most honest, caring, intelligent person that I have ever met. My Dad has been there for me when I needed him. He helped put me through school and was always there to help out whenever I needed it. I feel very lucky to have had parents who have been as generous as mine have been to me.

My Dad also warned me of the dangers of:

Alcohol
Loose Women
Gambling
Smoking

All good advice....none of which I chose to follow

As far as alcohol.. had to pretty much give it up when I got older... just couldn't seem to drink and still stay productive.

Loose Women....never found any that I could afford

Happily Married

Gambling: Never even thought about doing it till about a year ago. Wife and I took a trip to Las Vegas to see my lil bro when my mom was seriously ill and dying. Kathy, my wife showed me how to play a slot machine.. NEVER had done that.
Started gambling a bit as an experiment after returning home to phoenix... investigated all casino gambling, horses, finally settled on this as one type of gambling that I MAY eventually be able to make some money at My gambling started as an expression of RAGE at my mom's cancer that was eating her up from the inside out. She passed away last March... I'm still re-grouping and gambling.. I do realize that this chit can be very self-destructive. So I am keeping it down to a low roar.

Smoking: I can quit any time I want. In fact I have LOTS of times!

Dad is still around and is coping as best he can. He is 82 years old.. still goes to church and works on his car. I'm still the young son who doesn't know much

not really mad nor have any regrets that i never met him. just had my first child (18 months ago) and what a joy!! i hope to be a great father. i truly believe i will kids are really something special!! actually think i found him on the net the other nite. started looking up last names and found 1 with his first and last name but that was as far as it went. i really dont think i have any desire to see him or know him. everybody says im hidding my feelings but i honestly dont have any. i would also believe it would be an insult to my mother. even thought not very close she still did one hell of a job with me and hope god will reward her because i know i havent.thought i always wanted to know if he was loaded could always use the extra money (haha) but i think i really would rather do without. just hope and pray my son will know i will always be their and always love him because hes the man!!!

BigJoe sounds to me you already may have taken the first step toward locating your father or at least express some sort of feelings to maybe reach out towards him.
I don't believe it would be an insult to your mother unless of course your still living with her or maybe you using her as a excuse not to come into contact with him.
(No I'm not a psychiatrist nor do I play one on TV

)

Its never too late to personally reward your mother.......
Cards, dinners,cinema, mow her lawn,
TELEPHONE CALLS,flower/smokehouse deleveries there are numerous things you can do to tell her how appreciative you are and how much you care about her.
About the $$ situation I can relate.
I don't use my Dad for any of his bucks
and actually the only time I will is when he passes.
Take care of your children they grow fast.......
unfortunately I find myself more and more like my father was to me.
I'm definitely on the comp to much when I could be passing the ball around with them
and rarely tell them how much they mean to me.

Best to you all

BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!
I was 16, and my father was 43 when he died of a heart attack at his hunting camp near Hamilton Colorado, while making breakfast for a bunch of guys he was guiding in Colorado hunting for Elk. It was his second one and it was because of smoking.

He was a great dad, loved us very much. We grew up poor, (he was a taxidermist/hunting guide/and an artist (painter). He was one of the best outdoorsmen in South Dakota. He kept a log book of every deer that he witnessed over a number of years. He recorded its position on his handmade, self named maps of creeks, draws, fields for the entire state. He shore fished almost every night until 3 or 4 in the morning.

He was a one of a kind, and a very loving Christian man. He and my mother where one of six families that founded the now largest Church in this city, in fact our mayor and congressman, John Thune are members.
