This show is a guilty pleasure for me.

As per some of the promos, what you got is two bald fat ugly guys just arguing about crap (sports, tv shows, hair) and knowing it.

They don't take it too seriously (like The Sports Reporters). They just sit down and have minute-long pointless arguments about everything. They resolve nothing.

Neither one is knowledgable about everything (Wilbon on Hockey, e.g. or horse-racing) but they know it and don't try to be blowhards.

They do stupid gimmicky crap like have arguments as if they were someone else (a horse, Ozzy, Tiger Woods, whatever) but they're nerdy enough to pull it off.

Most of all, I guess I like it because its just how I have arguments with fam and friends about sports. Just yell at each other for a minute about whether Clemens or Maddux is a better pitcher. Whether Mark Cuban is good for the game, whether you're going to go see Spiderman, whether NBA should have replay on shot-clock calls, etc.

Keep in mind, 5:30 pm is also my "get home from work, have a beer, read the paper, turn on the tube before supper" time, so its great background for that. Its also the only time I'll have ESPN on that the wife isn't asking me to change it (I think she finds Wilbon cute).

If you're looking for serious sports talk, this isn't it, but for a little entertainment and guys yelling at each other about the hot sports topic of the day its just the thing.

Your opinion?

I respect your view on this because I never saw this show in that light.

IMO, PTI is awful.

I watch it almost every day and totally agree with what you said. Its not to be taken seriously for the most part. They do have a real interview with a sports figure every once in awhile but mostly its just two guys talkin smack about sports, which i happen to find entertaining. Plus its a good way to kill a half hour before the real sports come on later at night.

i'm with theshrimp on this one.

i enjoy it; they don't have a lot of the bs that other shows do and when they do, they don't pretend not to.

Anything that seems like point-counter point is going to draw my attention and for that reason I like it. What I DON'T need (or want) is a bunch of guys just sitting around discussing sports and all of them agreeing to pretty much rip this story or that story to pieces or overly sing the praises of how great this is or courageous that was. Four or five guys saying essentially the same thing all the time won't get much of my viewing time :nono:

Wilbon wears me out. I lean towards the liberal side but he still irritates me. I can't listen to him for too long or else the topic always goes to a racial or ethnic position it seems. But I don't know him from Adam, so I hate to comment on him like that. I like Kornheiser, but the more I have opportunity to speak with him, the more I conclude that he rehearses a lot and doesn't have too much innate knowlege of sports and true 'instincts,' so to speak. He is a good speaker and writer but I question what he knows and what people feed him. Overall the show is somewhat entertaining for me, although I haven't seen it but a few times.
