Happy Meals were introduced in 1979, looks like the kid is holding one of the intro containers...
That kid is holding Happyland Cookies.
They came out in the mid-late 70s, which is still later than what I thought the picture was.
Maybe the black and white photo makes it seem older?

I don't remember the cookies, in Maine we didn't always get every item that were available in other markets.

I only bring this up because 3 weeks ago I roasted my sister in law for her 50th birthday....She is a huge McDonalds Fan so I researched their history and did a timeline based around their products/intro dates and important dates in her life....
