some thoughts on toledo/fresno:
no play on this one, but lean to toledo even with the question mark hovering around gradkowski. kinda kicking myself for staying away from boise last week because bowling green's defense is just so porous that it was only a matter of time before boise started taking huge chunks of yards on each running play. perception is that toledo is the same kind of team as bowling green (lots of offense, no defense) and thats not necessarily true. toledo struggled on defense early on last year but finished the season very strong on the side of the ball. fresno is going to be a definite test for them, but the rockets should be up to the challenge. toledo is an aggressive defense that likes to blitz and they find ways to create turnovers. theyve already forced 6 turnovers on defense this year and theyve returned 3 of those for touchdowns.
obviously if cochran is forced into action, that will make the toledo spread offense a little more vanilla. theyre not going to be running their sophisticated stuff. but theyve got a good offensive line and good running backs that should help him out. toledo has done a good job of developing quarterbacks in recent years and they seem to think that the team would be ok with cochran under center if it comes down to it.
just think the line is really inflated. i saw some 14s and 14.5s which is an awful lot of points to give toledo even sans gradkowski. fresno will be out for blood but the rockets should be able to hang around and make this a game. slight lean to toledo with the inflated line. think the line move with boise last week was dead on. but think this one is just too much.

hells kitchen, i think that game is going to be a rout but i couldnt rely on temple for points, even if they are playing bowling green. hell, they struggled mightily to score in the 2nd half at home vs. western michigan last week. bowling green is going to beat the ever living piss outta them on saturday. but id be fearful of something like 51-10. i just think temple is going to give a half-ass "woe
is us" effort after their heartbreaking loss against western michigan last week, a game that the owls had circled as their only truly winnable game of the season
