this is the best they could do after a year and a half hiatus?.....

tony in a coma ...as a civilain ...losing his wallet.......metaphors?...

how about some entertainment...

we get the fact that a.j. is a loser...carmela`s a hypocrite...

the second episode made the first one seem like citizen kane....

terrible......so far...it`s dull..

next week could be better....the power struggle...

please,no more dreams...and hopefully, only half the episode involves people sitting in the hospital wringing their hands...

Couldn't disagree more, Weasel. I thought the second episode was outstanding. Set things up for future shows, and the dream sequence could be interpreted any number of ways, which is part of the enjoyment of the show to me.

As far as the phone calls, it definitely wasn't Carmela, at least one all of them. I plan on rewatching and will pay attention to that, but the second time sounded very much like Gloria Trillo.

The show is about the family from every angle, not just wiseguys knocking over shipments and rats getting whacked. If all you people want to see is people getting shot non-stop, go rent Robo Cop or Total Recall.

i find it very hard to believe that a guy like tony would get shot by his uncle......

the writer's should have made tony get shot by a mobster from either in his family or somebody in the ny family.......i think that would make a better story.....

i hope vic doesn`t end the season on a ventilator...

The begining of the end, right? After all there are 10 more episodes in this bunch, then sometime in 2008--I know, early 2007, they will have the last 8. That gives them 18 more hours to kill off and lock up the rest of the family.
Can't see Tony doing anything other than lying in the hospital for at least the next 8 or so weeks--unless they are gonna fast forward again and his dingbat sister Janice will have 2 more kids...:mj07:

AJ is going to kill Junior. I think that has to happen. And I think he gets involved with the business. I also think the fat guy who got caught blowing the other guy gets whacked pretty quick too. The other guys talked too much about him kissing ass. Maybe involving Meadow's fiance. I'm with bjniste, I thought it was a great episode.

I agree with Weasel and think bjfinste is being too artsy fartsy ....and it's surprising that a Bon Jovi fan is capable of deep thought.

Overall, I think The Sopranos pretty much sucks at this point. I want some full frontal from Meadow and every other charcter dead ASAP or I doubt I'll manage to sit through the season.

Dammit Saul, I told you I wasn't a fan... I just think "Livin' on a Prayer" is a good song!!!!

I am an artsy fartsy kinda guy, though, so it's no surprise it would appeal to me.

To anyone interested in metaphors/symbolism

Doesn't this remind you of death of a salesman. tony is a salesman in the dream (possibly dying)... this is the book in which the father loses his mind..the son drops out of school (to follow in his father's dreams)...the father cheats on his wife and it is found out..tony started and ended the dream in a hotel which is a main setting in the book. Just a thought..don't know what it would mean

As for the voice on the phone it was definetly not carmela. ..sounded like the mistres that worked at the benz dealership.

bjfinste innocent? oh man. yeah, and tony has been a faithful husband. thanks for gettin' my back though, bro. you goin' down, art freak! - your "prayer" that you been "living on" will not be answered this time.

ps - how was the 'mature' date last weekend. i heard you didnt even meet her halfway. ...she came all the way to you! what a pimp.

These episodes have been all set ups for the future....and Gloria Trillo on the phone is a great call I think your right...as for the dreams, IMO its Tony's life if he had taken another route in life...These next episodes should be good with the power struggle

I liked how he was explaining what happened when Tony went into cardiac arrest, and was something to the effect of

"then the machine went all bullshit"

I'm starting to get the feeling that william burough's "seven souls" has some meaning to this season..

Actually just read burough's bio (he was a morphine addict (tony in the first scene) and went to columbia (medow). interesting how david chase connects these into the show. tonights show was all about how everything is connected..
