I wear my birthday suit 2 or 3 times a week while I chase the old lady around the house :grins:

Just this year we have changed our dress code policy at my office (structural engineereing firm). Previously, at least a tie was required when meeting with clients and preferably in the office. I pointed out in March that the past ten meetings I had been to, I was the only one wearing a tie. Everyone aggreed and now it we just wear slacks and a buttoned shirt.

I wear coat and tie 3-4 days out of my work week. Depends on whats going on but the dry cleaning (50 week) isnt cheap and I updated my wardrobe last winter to the tune of 3,000. :scared

I actually enjoy wearing it, I just feel like if you are going to ask someone for the type of money I deal with you should look like you deserve it.

Wasn't too many years ago that these used to be worn by EVERYONE; just look at any old photo of people at a sporting event, or on a busy street, and its amazing but 99% of the people wore hats like this. My point is, if we can lose the custom of wearing hats, why not ties (wtf purpose do they serve anyways)

Suit and tie would be pretty hard being just out of college, only having one suit, and 3 ties. Gotta love the business casual. Makes it easy to pick out outfits in the morning.

i do a lot of business with international customers and i can tell you that in europe at the managerial level they were dress shirts and ties. also for those companies doing busines with the government services oftentimes they will have a dress code because of the many visits by military personnel in dress uniforms.

Unfortunatley, suit and tie are required. I'm a manager for pharmaceutical company and when in doctors offices, its mandatory.

It's great when its 100 degrees outside.

On the course!
Jack, maybe you should have found a picture of people applauding, who weren't all wearing formal wear?

We are becoming a nation of bums, whose overall dress is catching up to our moral, and ethical values.

I was at the bank last week, and asked why no one had a suit on in there. I was told by one of the senior vice presidents that their new policy was business casual from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I felt like I was in a Kinkos, for Christ's sake!

i don't. just wondering what the purpose of wearing a suit and tie is, that's all.

The purpose is "appearance"......"image".

Why do you put on deodorant? Comb your hair? Why do stores sell irons? Why do people buy new clothes, when the old ones still fit?

A tie is not really uncomfortable, is it?
