P&G is up over 1% today, everyone will have to re-buy all their products...just adding some levity to the situation

Well, it sounds like we were going to have some planes blowing up in a few days, and if they weren't acting on this info and precautions, I guarantee you I would be blasting away at their lack of preparedness and thoroughness until they know for sure (or as best they can) if there were/are more in the plans.

Sounds like a job very well done by whomever was in charge of this stuff. I assume it was the same people i have been pretty critical of over the past few months/years. I think erring on the side of safety and security - at least for a few days or so - makes a helluva lot of sense to me.

I agree that the intel services in Britain, America and apparently Pakistan did a fine job.

I just think the response was disproportionate (buzzword of the month).

Trains blow up in Spain and London. Nothing.

Resort in Egypt. Nothing.

Hotel in Jordan. Nothing.

And those were things that actually happened.

But now that there is a plot exposed overseas, all hell breaks loose in our airports.

Bullshit!

You got the guys you were after, let the rest of the world keep turning!

Where do you draw the line? What becomes"too much"?

Hey, if a guy walks in the bank, and pulls a gun, the cops don't start frisking every customer who walks through the door. It would provide "security", though!

Airports seem to be the only place this happens.

i guess they are damned if they do tighten security or damned if they don't.

I figured that someone would bust that one out eventually.

'Tighten security' has a million levels of degree. What if they did have everyone travel in robes and paper shoes as gw joked? That would be tightening security also.

Oh well, i'm gonna stop bitching about it until we see how long they intend to outlaw frggin' shampoo and water on airlines.

Come on man, give em some credit. They got 21 people, but they weren't sure how far it extended. I seriously doubt othat only 21 were involved.

Let this thing breathe a little before flying off the handle. The important thing is that whatever was planned didn't happen.

Good point. Something about airplanes and airports that will always be regarded apart from everything else. It's not logical, it just is.

Hey, if the shlt hit the fan, I know you'd be in the trenches with me - vice versa. We just process information a little different sometimes.

That's great, but that has nothing to do with you and me getting our shampoo seized. Go after the guys you suspect, for Christ's sake, and leave us alone!

To me, this falls under the same lines as tap your phone, take your gun, etc.......Whatever provides " security".

Yes, I'd totally agree with you if a month from now Grandma Jones is having her shampoo taken away. But for today - for this week even, I'm willing to give security the benefit of the doubt.

After that Pakistani woman tried to light the fuse on her "Vagina Bomb", the TSA has ruled women with tampons will be denied boarding priviliges. :142lmao:

That's funny but also has a ring of truth. Tampons in packages are banned as a carry-on. You have to take them out of the package and unveil them, letting the thousand people behind you in line know that you're on the rag.

Wow, there's a pleasant response.

I don't know what histrionic info you are looking at, every report I'm hearing is that there are still 5 unnaccounted for terrorists, one an Iranian, one Pakistani. You think it's ok to just blow it off because we "got the guys we're going after" ?!? We didn't get them all yet.

This is nothing like a secret and illegal wiretap. I'm the biggest critic of those policies and this administration when it comes to that. Oh my GOD, they are SEIZING shampoo!!!! Good lord, there are real problems in the world...to equate keeping shampoo and bottled water off a plane for a while is nothing like the other things you mention. Not sure why you mumble something about taking your gun, but I think I get your picture on that. You probably think it is fine that Maurice Clarett can roll along the highway with his guns...and should not have been taken away from him. Definitely a member of the "Stay out of my yard" club.

Here's an idea. Get a cold drink from the damn flight attendant when you get on the plane. Hell, have two or three. Better yet, spend the $4 and get a mixed drink to calm your "seized" nerves, if that's what it takes. I'm guessing the hotel or the house you are traveling to will have a free little bottle of shampoo for you on the other end, too.

Take a freaking chill pill. It's shampoo and water. And it won't go on forever. Probably until we turn the newspaper pages in a day or two.

Hey, Chad.......What I'm saying is:

The cops didn't start pulling every car over to see if all drivers had four loaded guns and a flack jacket, did they?.......No, they didn't!

I don't give a shit about the drinks, you goof! That aint the point, and I would think you would be smart enough to know that! It's your freedom being shit on, yet again, that I am worried about.

And if you really think this is going to prevent anything, then I feel even more sorry for you.

It's just another stupid "Three Stooges" approach, accepted by a "Three Stooges" society.

Bet, hey......If you can honestly tell me you will feel safer flying tomorrow, over flying yesterday....okay, stud.
