I just can't believe anyone thinks this guy is funny. I love comedy but to me this guy is terrible. All the sudden he is the new big thing. What is going on in Boston to hear the garden laugh at everything he says? This guy is brutal

Personally I think some of his skits are pretty damn funny. You cant possibly think they are all terrible...
i never saw any of his skits. Its his stand up comedy. It is on HBO right now and i am giving it my best try to laugh.
completely agree on this one. for some reason, he has an almost cult following with people talking about how funny he is. have seen and heard a lot of his material and its nothing special. like any comedian, he has his moments where he really breaks you up. but if you didn't know it was dane cook, you'd think it was just a run-of-the-mill stand up comic doing a comedy central half hour.
gman im still waiting for that moment. My brother and i just watched his act on HBO and we realized we wasted an hour we are never ever gonna get back. I can only judge him on this act tho. You might have saw his other stuff. what really bothers me is the crowd was enjoying it like he was the funniest comic who ever lived. what i saw tonight i think i could sit there for two days in a think tank and come up with way funnier stuff than he did.
:shrug: i watched the crap as well....a little funny, but not much. actually a lot of it is not funny at all. really like the way he laughs at his own shat that is not really funny either.
similar to the macarena in music along with a million other crappy songs, when media outlets pour him down your throat the masses eat it up.
i don't hate him or like him. i'm sure it comes as shocking that it takes a lot to make me laugh. hbo has been shoving this guy down peoples throats, hence the following.

I assumed I was just an old turd thinking this guy was not funny with the crowds he attracts. I watched 30 minutes of a couple of his shows and did not laugh once. Glad to see someone else thinks he is not funny. I can come on madjacks and get several chuckles in just a few minutes plus find a few losing plays. Time better spent.lol
