Kentucky -11.5 second half

They turned it up a bit towards the end....will wear down C. Ark. and score often on turnovers. Gillespie won't call off the dogs because he's setting a tone and a mindset with hardnosed defense. They outscore by 15 or 16 second half.

also leaning with memphis -29.5. Think Richmond will try and slow down game..but Memphis is too explosive and will go on big runs 15-0 or 18-0 runs...all they need is 2 or 3 of those for an easy cover...also...the bench for memphis will spank Richmond...no drop off.

1-0 so far this year with Kentucky covering in the 2nd half.

Watching the start of the Memphis game. I took them at -29. Memphis is about 4 classes ahead of Richmond. Even if Richmond breaks the press they can't attack and finish inside...this gives Memphis free reign to take chances and go for steals...which they will and do anyway. I'm hoping this stays relatively close 15 pts or so, because Memphis wins this game by 35 or 40. I want to hit it again in the second half. One scary thing is Memphis' poor free throw shooting...but I don't think it matters in this game.

we'll see what happens.

Richmond playing a 1-2-2 or 1-3-1 hybrid...forcing Memphis to shoot from the outside. Richmond is going to make Memphis cover this from the perimeter. Memphis will have to offensive rebound...which I think they will. First half will be lots of threes...second half Memphis will attack the basket more off the dribble. Impressed with the unselfishness of Memphis so far...sharing the ball well..a couple of extra passes leading to wide open threes.

Memphis will be up 12 at half...my guess. I'll take them at -12 or so for the second half and they'll win by 30.

This is my fantasy! :shrug:

Memphis will start attacking the whole and get easy rebounds and put backs.

Memphis up 1 at half. Richmond playing well..really sagging it in. One would think, and I would hope, that Memphis is going to run and look for early offense off makes and misses this half before Richmond can get into their zone. I'm not usually a chaser, but in this case I did bight. -13.5 was too good for me. I was hoping for a close game (around 10 or 12) at half...this was a little too close though. Hopefully Memphis can come out early and get up in the second half by 10 or 12 quickly..otherwise Richmond can slow the game down even more.

I'm going with Memphis -13.5 in the second half. Hopefully this game won't be a double beat. Like I said..chasing isn't my style. Just playing what I think is right here.

Alright, Memphis covered the second half which makes me 2-1 on the night. Started pushing the ball up the court....funny it took a Freshman (Rose) to do it though. That does not bode well for Memphis. That they had to rely on a freshman to do what he did. At some point that will bite them on the ass. Look for Memphis to struggle against Zone playing strong rebounding teams. Without their big dude down low, there was very little offensive rebounding for Memphis against a team that doesn't rebound well.

2-1 tonight, 2-1 overall.

Looking at tomorrows game with UConn and Morgan St. I'm leaning Morgan State +26. UConn needs to figure out who is going to score. Morgan State has some good talent...Also, very often Calhoun plays with his combinations early in the season and ends up not covering....I'll take Morgan State as a small play....I think they'll lose by 23 or 24.
