Why don't they have healthcare--the poor are covered by medicaid--why did the 1 mill lose their homes--speculation or bit off more than they could chew--as interest rates (fixed) have been lowest in decades-- ie- best opp ever to buy home at affordable rate>

you work hard and you won`t be poor...you don`t have the diadvantage of being an illegal immigrant or a minority.... some things are bigger than 'self"....family and country come to mind...

take the time you spend in this forum complaining and get that second job(or more probably,that first one)...get that clunker to get yourself to that first/second job.....

I'm willing to bet that the majority of Americans are not in serious debt, but those that are, are a much more vocal group as far as crying to the press to create stories about their woes in order to sleep a little better at night and giving themselves some sort of validation that it is ok to be in the situation that they are in, because sally rottencrotch on the evening news said credit cards and ARMs are tricky.

Managing your personal finances and using credit cards, and taking out mortgages are tricky and require some knowledge.

Guess what? So is welding. And you don't see everyone on your block whipping out their torches on the weekend to work on a project in their garage. Because people know it requires some knowledge to use it properly, and they will likely get burned if they try it without knowing how to do it.
