On The Other Side
CAROLINA +3

Will have at least 5 dimes on this one, making it my biggest play of the year.

The Giants' run is over! They have failed to cover the number in their last two games, and I'm predicting they won't cover again this season. The loss of Plax really hurts the Giants' offense. I like Toomer and Smith, but Hixon isn't ready to fill the void. Plax bailed Eli out so many times in the past. Manning would just put some air under the ball, and Plax would use his size to come down with it.

Ward and Bradshaw are solid backs, but they are more effective when Jacobs is in the mix. Brandon wears defenses down, and then Ward and Bradshaw take advantage of a fatigued front seven. Jacobs might play on Sunday, but he certainly won't be 100%.

I absolutely love Carolina and coach Fox as a dog! Over recent years, has any team been more profitable as a dog? I highly doubt it. Whenever I see this team as a dog, it's an automatic play for me.

Bottom line, the Panthers are the better team at this point in the season, and they will prove it tomorrow in primetime.

Good luck!

Your crazy to put so much on the Panthers who look better than they are beating up on weak conference teams and the last three weeks against two piss poor defensive teams and one who is ranked better than they really are in TB. Giants played two teams in desperate need of a win while they were playing with house money.

Carolina is only 3-3 on the road and is coming to NY where its cold and snowing.

Giants are back in the roll where they like to be, labeled down and out. Today will be a huge Giant ass whoopin. So save your money

Hey mush you are an idiot - this guy made a huge play on what turned out to be the right side and you come in to his thread to basically say "I told you so"

Get out and stay out if that is the level of your contribution here

Amazing.

Would you be posting this if that 50 yard FG hit, or if all NYG backers got their deserved push with a late FG instead? mush comes back with his 'i told you so' because he called last nights 'ass-whoopin'

Come on.

I had the under and took my loss like a man, same way I take my wins. Point is I had no interest in either side $$$ wise.

In the bigger aspect of things, just lesson #1,243 in 2008 about money management. GOYs are a marketing tool used by shills, touts, and services.

Wise and Wiser-I know you and I have not gotten along in the past, but I wanted to say that I feel for you, what an awful, bizzarre loss. Each time Carolina caught the Giant runner from behind when they hit FG range in ot,one expected to see the fg unit trotting out on to the field. Each time they ran a subsequent play I rubbed my eyes in disbelief.Coughlin is as crazy as Woody Hayes ever was,a very close friend in the coaching profession said that was his rep.To continue snapping the ball, handing it off, letting the runner fight for extra yardage against tacklers trying to strip the ball on every down,at the very site of the "miracle at the Meadowlands" no less confirms that he is crazy. To me a coaches job is to give his team the highest percentage (best) chance to win.Though his team won in a grand display of testosterone, pleasing their fans and gambling supporters nationwide,he took a path proven to be a more risky, less sure way percentage wise. And I say thats a risk a great coach would not take, especially with the stakes being what they were.I challenge any Giant backer to assert that they knew he would employ this strategy in ot when they made their bet,or that the thought even crossed their mind as ot started.Again,Wise and Wiser,I felt very badly for you to have lost 5500 and not gotten at least the push this game deserved once it got to ot.Hang in there,(and consider IX Benders words.)

full disclosure: i'm a big giants fan

i expect things like this from coughlin because i've watched all nyg games since he was hired..

take for instance last year's reg season game against NE. Nothing to play for..seeding was set but they went for it like it was a playoff game...and so did bellichek btw

about 2-3 years ago giants went deep to plax for a td in overtime against the eagles winning 30-24 in ot and it was on 3rd down...could have run the ball or called a screen to inch it closer for an easier fg but went for the jugular..

also, giants have gone for it numerous times on 4th and 1 in tight games instead of kicking easy fgs.

this year alone...how many fg's have been blocked and returned for td's? at least as many fumbles at the 1 yd line going in for a score..

the way the panther defense was getting physically abused in OT i would argue that handing it to brandon jacobs for the td was a higher percentage play than kicking the fg..

you may remember on some earlier fg and extra point attempts feagles had some trouble handling the snap and placement

like herm edwards says... you play to win the game...

its a mantra that alot of coaches like to think they adhere to but not many do in actuality.

fox should have stayed aggressive at the end of regulation, but as soon as he got to the 30 he took his foot off the gas pedal and it cost his team the win. he coached at ny for 4 years and should have known that a 49 yd fg in those conditions is not gimmie...not to mention the end of the 1st half. the panthers had momentum and the way they were moving the ball they should have at least made an effort to get into fg range..

Don't worry Burns, Bender, and Ed. If it makes you feel any better.....

Tough loss. But I doubt he had 5 dimes on it.

It's called gambling for a reason. Regardless, he WASN'T on the "right side."

This isn't horseshoes

Edludes, thanks for the kind words. I will never say anything negative about you again. True class my man!

Mush, I didn't even know you existed until you came into my thread, so I could care less about your thoughts.

IO, I really hope you and I meet up one day. If we do, when I drop you like a ton of bricks, you will know I had five dimes on this game! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you're a spineless blowhard.
