cmamoulelis-full disclosure:I used to be a Giant, but I'm not a fan of any team. Its NOT playing to win in my opinion to do what Couglin did,but your background was helpful and everybodys entitled to their opinion, but its not smart football to take unnecessary chances. There have been bad snaps and blocked FG's in the NFL before this year, and going for it when its not overtime isn't comparing like situations.I'll bet 100 units that edwards of all people would have kicked in that situation in ot.Intense Operator,I'm with Wise and Wiser on this one,you are a spineless ass who hides behind the anonimity of the internet, you probably wouldn't last 10 seconds in a fight(or a fuck for that matter.)do you hate Obama,is that your reason for the stupid avatar of him? That always makes me laugh, like we could possibly have a worse President than the one now leaving office!!!!!!You couldn't graduate from Harvard if they spotted you three years credits.

IO -

If you don't understand that Carolina +4 was the right side last night I'm not sure what's wrong with you nor whether or not you can be helped

mush -

you are an idiot and if you never come back to this site after your banishment MJ's will be a much better place

cmamoulelis -

many excellent points in your posts - NY's long snapper was having a very tough night and I agree that handing the ball off at that point may have been the correct call, esp once they were on the 2 yard line and it was obvious that the Panthers had no chance to stop them

Bottom line, I had no money on the game either as I missed the kick but was sick to my stomach for all Panther backers b/c I've been there before - super tough loss esp for those with large bets - feel for you W&W although I'm sure that provides you with no solace

GL to all (or most I should say) moving forward

Wise,

You had the right play. Don't listen to the dildos who come on and second guess. Yesterday was tough day in the pros and lots of peoples got carpet bombed. No biggie. Keep posting.

full disclosure: i'm a big giants fan

i expect things like this from coughlin because i've watched all nyg games since he was hired..

take for instance last year's reg season game against NE. Nothing to play for..seeding was set but they went for it like it was a playoff game...and so did bellichek btw

about 2-3 years ago giants went deep to plax for a td in overtime against the eagles winning 30-24 in ot and it was on 3rd down...could have run the ball or called a screen to inch it closer for an easier fg but went for the jugular..

also, giants have gone for it numerous times on 4th and 1 in tight games instead of kicking easy fgs.

this year alone...how many fg's have been blocked and returned for td's? at least as many fumbles at the 1 yd line going in for a score..

the way the panther defense was getting physically abused in OT i would argue that handing it to brandon jacobs for the td was a higher percentage play than kicking the fg..

you may remember on some earlier fg and extra point attempts feagles had some trouble handling the snap and placement

like herm edwards says... you play to win the game...

its a mantra that alot of coaches like to think they adhere to but not many do in actuality.

fox should have stayed aggressive at the end of regulation, but as soon as he got to the 30 he took his foot off the gas pedal and it cost his team the win. he coached at ny for 4 years and should have known that a 49 yd fg in those conditions is not gimmie...not to mention the end of the 1st half. the panthers had momentum and the way they were moving the ball they should have at least made an effort to get into fg range..

seems everyone somehow missed this quality post

IO, I really hope you and I meet up one day. If we do, when I drop you like a ton of bricks

I'm always around Kedzie and Roosevelt. Wearing the Bulls cap and the FUBU jacket whenever you get the feeling. A big shooter like you that throws around 20 30 dimes a week on action should have no problem hopping here and kicking me around then hopping back.

Who are you kidding? A guy who has made over 17,000 posts doesn't get out of the house, period! Not to mention, you told me not too long ago you've been fading my college and pro football picks. If this is true, you can't afford a FUBU jacket. Looks like the kids will have empty stockings this year. What a shame!
