True. In Philly he never would have been arrested. They let the fans police their own. :142smilie

On the course!
whats the charge.....misdemeanor charge for being a tool in public?????

not sure i see that statute anywhere.......probably make up something about public intoxication, even if he was sober.

it's all about cops thinking they're always right and enforcing the law no matter what......you're not the right guy?? too bad, now the charge is resisting arrest......oh....and we'll toss you around, throw you on the ground and carry you out, just becasue we can!!!!

if he gets any charges. i'd sue the shit out of those fuking assholes (and would look into suing them anyway)

There probably was no charge to begin with. That is not even a point in question. If you fight with the police.......you have NOW given them the right to arrest you FOR THAT! It's one of the easiest traps they can use on you, and people fall for it every day!

If you notice at the end of the video, there is another guy pleading with another cop! Looks like the same "baiting" routine, only this guy is too smart to fall for it. He just went with the cop, rather than continue to argue with him, and get tossed on his ass, too!

Also, something everyone seems to be missing:

There are thousands of people in that stadium. Hundreds in that little area. This guy might have been acting "harmlessly" in the eyes of most people, but if he was pissing off 40-50 people, he needed to be dealt with.

It was already stated that people were throwing things at him? What happens when YOU get hit with a bottle meant for him? Or maybe your 7 year old son does? Now, you race down and start fighting with this other clown.....the whole thing escalates. This is what those "fat assed" cops are trying to prevent, and video watchers never seem to understand.

Yeah, everyone wants to talk about suing the cops. I can promise you this, though: If they did nothing, and the guy got the shit kicked outta him by the crowd, and several other wound up getting hurt, you'd hear a whole new gang yelling about "their" lawsuits, because the police didn't do anything!

So chanting is not aloud just because it is one guy??
Was the guy a dumbass heading down a possible bad path, sure. BUT THAT IS HIS RIGHT.

I guess every person at the Texas/KSU game should have been arrested last night when they chanted "We own Texas" for about 5 minute straight.
I am sure there were some Longhorn fans in the building who were offended.

Well, the cops had the right to drag his ass out of the stadium.

I guess everyone was right!

So why couldn't the cops have gone down and given him a warning and asked him to quiet down. If the cops were fearing for his and everyone else's safety around him, this could have just as easily solved the problem. Since 3-4 of them went to confront the fan, it appeared to me that they were looking to escort him out from the get go.

We don't know that didn't happen. Also, if you've ever been to an event, 3-4 police always go down to a security issue.

The video starts back up after the police are already confronting the guy. They might have been trying to talk to him for some while for all we know.

Possibly, but unlikely, since the Charger's fans around him were still willing to back the guy. If he was warned, I don't think they would have done that.

Too many boneheads think a ticket to a game means, "I have the right to do what I want.......I paid for my ticket".

You still do not have the right to infringe upon anyone elses right to enjoy the game.

So cheering for your team in another stadium shouldn't be allowable because the home fans won't enjoy the game as much with you cheering against them?

Give me a fucking break

YES

living here and going to those game (and knowing others that go and root for their teams) this happens all the time.

fans can text in complaints from their seats in the stadium to security who will deal with the issue....what you saw is how they generally deal with the issue....no questions asked, roughed up, cuffed and tossed out (with a ticket and or a charge or resisting arrest...with nothing else attached)

i've wittenssed first hand friends and others go thru the same routine for doing nothing, NOTHING, other than cheering for their team (like the guy in the video)

now, did he do more? who knows....but the fans around him sure seemed to be defending him....but all it takes is one thin skinned bandwagoner to make that sms!
