As for the crowd "defending" this guy? Yeah, we could hear people by the mic of the phone doing that. But we also KNOW several people had issue with the guy, or nothing would have started this! So, how many of those folks were telling cops, "that's the guy", or "glad you're finally here"?
How do we know several had issues with him.
Some douchebag off duty cop who is pissed his team is losing calls in that he is annoyed by a heckler chanting his teams name.
The people around him who didn't even know him say you got the wrong guy.
If he was so drunk and obnoxious then why would a single person defend him much less all of them?
I have already said it, the guy looks like a douchebag and was a moron for carrying on but neither of those is a crime at a sporting event where you are stimulated by cheerleaders and flashing scoreboards to cheer.
Show me a sign where it says opponents fans not welcome to cheer.
Here is a fact that nobody points out. I am sure this guy was a target of some of the Charger fans early in the game when the Chargers were up since he was wearing a Jets jersey and probably already cheering. So his passion built for his team once we got to this point and the frustration was now on Charger fan.
He never directed his chants at any one person as to start a confrontation which is why the people around him defended him.
They said you got the wrong guy tells me he was being heckled before this.
Also I may be a little biased in opinion after having gone to Texas/OU so many times and having both seen and been apart of verbal abuse to no end with never once seeing a fan arrested or even tossed.
It is brutal to buy a scalped ticket wearing Texas gear and find out it is right smack in the middle of the OU section. :director: :director:
Rough man,ROUGH. Of course I never tried cheering very loud when having those seats but I sure took my share of abuse when something went against UT.
